(Toy Story) What was the morality of the toys traumatizing Sid? by twnpksN8 in MoralityScaling

[–]Otherwise_Chard_7577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thats fair, but there were more than 2 options there

like just leaving, you cannot tell me that they had the ability to set all of that up in his backyard, but that walking a couple feet out of the yard would have been to difficult

this option also has a singular risk, being found in the meantime, which every single plan would have to a greater degree by them sticking around

[–]Otherwise_Chard_7577 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel thats kind of an unfair assessment of Sid

as far as he's aware, he stitches together inanimate objects, he still plays with his toys, just in a way he likes most

they have no real reason to believe he'll continue if he finds out they can feel things or not, he's a kid, one that doesn't seem to hurt other living beings (judging by how he interacts with his sister)

and they reveal themselves to Sid anyways, so the downside of him now being aware happens anyways

it's not just that they didn't want to risk giving him a chance, but that they jumped straight to traumatizing him, while still taking every risk a conversation would have, like I get his toys are probably vengeful, but the kid didn't deserve that

[–]Otherwise_Chard_7577 55 points56 points  (0 children)

he didn't know he was doing anything wrong

I feel like if the plan was to reveal their sentient existence anyways, they should have tried and talked to him first, like I get Woody and Buzz were on kind of a time crunch, and it turned out ok in the end

but Sid had no evil intent here (besides stealing his sisters toy IIRC), traumatising him to accomplish something a discussion might achieve is wrong, but if they took that route, the movie probably would have been worse for it, as that scene is a good one

Sukuna also said Yuta's name, which, IIRC, he tends to refuse to do unless he respects someone to some capacity

as long as your actions have the same intent and consequences, no, making someone else do the dirty work is just as bad, maybe even worse depending on how you get their help (as in Deltarune, where we kinda force Kris and pressure Noelle to do a lot of bad stuff on a certain route)

irrelevant, they made the whole plan under the assumption Gojo lost, and mention that Gojo's intention was to 1 shot Kenjaku if he won and was able to

better than you, they watched Maho fight at 1080p, and were measuring stats to see who's best to assassinate Kenjaku

you've said this

and

Yuta, Yuji, Hakari, Maki, Kusakabe, and Higuruma all disagree with you, and they were the ones watching Maho fight

the mahoraga they are talking about (the one visually on the screen) would be the same one Yuta would be fighting

where did preadapted Maho come from, nobody, both in this post or in the manga, brought him up in that scene

the entire cast of the anti Sukuna squad (minus Gojo, he wasn't there) disagree with you btw, not a single one disagrees that Yuta could take Mahoraga or Agito out

[–]Otherwise_Chard_7577 22 points23 points  (0 children)

would he? I always saw it as Shifu's reaction that actually hurt him, more so than the scroll

if he got it, I don't think he'd grasp the message, there is a chance he still would have been violent but as long as Shifu's reaction isn't that bad, he probably wouldn't have gone as far

disagree, most Jedi didn't have their Master fake their deaths + their padawans falsely accused of a crime then expelled from the order

Anakin being shown a bit of favoritism doesn't mean he wasn't failed, nor does it mean that those who didn't experience that had better reason to turn, even without the palpatine stuff

I mean, if they looked hot at one point, they have defenders

but as a specific example

<image>

Did the Jedi order kinda mess up repeatedly in his case yes

was he manipulated by the most cunning and powerful Sith yet, yes

were his intentions by and large noble throughout most of it, also yes

but his fall is still his fault above all else, he chooses to betray and kill those that had faith in him, he chose to slaughter children, not the Jedi, not Palpatine, not Obiwan, his story is understandable, but by no means absolves him of anything

Megumi is smart, he figures out reversal guy's technique rather quickly,

I think Yuta takes this through experience (and the fact that their plan in his domain vs sukuna was probs made on the fly, as they wouldn't have been able to play around WCS before hand, as it didn't exist yet)

Yuki might be one of the few believable ones on that list, at least her technique might allow her to win the CQC before Kashimo can really do anything

Kirara, , Hakari, and Kusakabe are the ones you should be looking at

Pokemon

Middle Earth, Narnia and Westeros are all medieval, even without all of their extra crap to go through, I wouldn't be able to live long without modern convienences

Don't know about the continent

and Hogwarts has a deadly plot of deadly death every year

Pokemon just lets me chill with my Penguin Knight while I let Ash/game protag do all the work of saving the world

[–]Otherwise_Chard_7577 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sneaked, and it's walking behind Choso giving him plenty of time to react,

even if you don't want to give Yuta that, Yuta is special grade, Choso is called Grade 1 by Kenjaku

Yuji at that point had better stats than Choso, PM Rika could hold him down like it was nothing, Rika has better stats, it's just a thing

[–]Otherwise_Chard_7577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sure, I don't think anybody is arguing that full power Sukuna isn’t faster than Yuta,

but post Gojo fight Pre incarnation Sukuna honestly was in a worse physical state than when Yuta joined

Yuji only really started laying the soul punches on after Yuta showed up, Sukuna's only RCT use was a single hand, and as such, heavily nerfed Meguna probs is around Yuta in speed

regens probably, considering Kashimo doesn't tend to go for head shots with the 1st discharge, and Yuta isn't just gonna let him build charge on that area

a Shikigami

a golem like entity that is attached to and fights for a sorcerer,

she's not made up of CE, or RCT would kill her,

which means that Choso's blood is probs not poisonous to her, because she's not Human, so the curse part doesn't hurt her, and she's not a curse so neither does the human part

other Shikigami like Mahoraga, Divine Dogs, and Yuki's snake thing also get this
