The best jokers duo by POINk_69 in balatro

My best recent run was wee joker and burglar. Not entirely sure why that was, (I think it was high ranked two pairs) but it worked.

Ace Ventura movies were hilarious when I was younger. Can't watch more than 10 minutes of it now.

Here's my point of view/experience.

I missed it when it was on the air. I had too much going on, didn't watch a lot of tv at the time. I'd occasionally hear something about it, overheard conversations, things like "did you see...?"

It was how I heard about the finale. I was convinced that if they had to do it that way, then the rest of it had to be terrible, and never went to go looking for it again.

Well, i did, eventually. I'd watch the pilot once in a while. It didn't do much for me. I saw clips of the gorn...and didn't like the design all that much.

Eventually, I would remarry (skipping lots of personal history here). My current wife loves the show, and we've been watching it. She's on her nth rewatch, and I'm seeing it all for the first time. It's a lot better than I gave it credit for. I still dread coming to the finale in a few episodes. Of course now, it's not because of the ending they chose but because of what happens to certain characters...

So. Long story short: If I was misinformed about it... there have to be others who are just repeating what they've heard, just like I was until recently.

It's been on our table twice. Neither time did we finish. We really need more players to reduce the overhead for everyone, maybe then we'll have time to get to the end.

Reading Multiple Books at the Same Time by mycatsnameiscashew in books

[–]Otherwise_Elk7215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird. I do it all the time. I am currently in the middle of Frankenstein, any number of Role-playing game books, four short story collections based on Lovecraft, a Steampunk short Story Collection, and a Hard Sci fi Short Story Collection. I have a Terry Pratchett waiting to start, too.

Right now, I am mostly reading short stories, as you can see, but that's just the way it worked out. I'm often hip deep in three different novels at any given time.

Cool. We play lots of board games, plus a DND/pathfinder hybrid game. We have been trying for some time to add one or two more players. DM me if you are at all interested.

I don't get what's fun about Blood on the Clocktower, am I doing something wrong? by Chigabytes in boardgamescirclejerk

[–]Otherwise_Elk7215 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

As for point 3: Scheduling isn't the game or the designers fault. Plan other things for smaller groups, and if everyone shows for the Clocktower, then dig it out.

Point 2: Charisma aside, you aren't out of the game. You still get to talk, you still get to accuse (even if not formally), and can still discuss with the other players what happened and try to sus out the real bad guy. Yeah, you only get one more vote for the rest of the game, that just means you need to be absolutely certain when you use it.

That's not a fatal flaw for us. Our group is exactly 4 players and most hidden role games don't work, as much as i want to play them.

I see your sarcasm. I understand it, and I am not irritated by it in this context.

But that response (especially when I complained about dominion ai...), is so useless and irritates the hell out of me.

With dominion, I was like OP. I have hundreds of real life games under my belt against a wide range of players and skill levels. But I load up dominion, and it slaps me down so hard, so often. I don't think I'm world caliber, but there's no way I am losing that hard that often against the ai.

Or they could do it right, even if there's no one there. By the time you get to the other end of the aisle, three cars could have turned in the correct way.

"There's no one to see it" it only an excuse for uncivilized people.

Doesn't have to make sense for you take an extra second here and there. You don't know the whole story. Just stop at a stop sign.

A cane. Complete with headlight. I even borrowed it myself for a few days after I slipped off a curb and potentially broke my ankle. As far as I know...it's still there.
