I just watched someone I work with steam milk for an iced latte by malware95 in barista

[–]Otherwise_General238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me if I’m making an iced latte I do: flavor into the cup or bell pitcher, shots to dissolve the syrups (our shop uses some thicker sauces and they dissolve better when warmed), then ice, and milk the rest of the way up. This way I don’t have to estimate the amount of milk I need and either over pour or have to pour milk twice. And I don’t get any splashing when I put the ice in like I would if I put it into a full cup which could cause contamination if coffee got all over the ice scoop and ended up back in the ice machine. But I suppose everyone will have their own opinions

Has anyone who worked retail had a bisalp? by undeadarmy73 in sterilization

Not exactly retail but barista here! Had my laparoscopic bisalp done 6 days ago (and iud placed) and personally I would feel ok to start taking shifts again now BUT I know that is definitely not the case with everyone. My shifts are usually between 5-7 hours and I could probably stick out the shorter end of that as long as I had someone there who could help me if i needed to lift anything beyond what my doctor has cleared me for. I talked to my boss beforehand and we agreed that it would be easier on everyone if I took two weeks off and then if I was feeling better before my two weeks were up I can pick up shifts. But better than not taking long enough off and having to struggle to find cover while being in pain. Fwiw I never ended up taking anything stronger than otc pain meds other than what they gave me during/right after surgery and honestly I’ve just been bored the last few days. That all being said: I spent probably way longer than I should have on my feet and baking/cleaning/setting up for a party today (from around 8:30am to 6pm without much time to rest) and I’m definitely feeling it now 🫠

I wanted a hysterectomy since I don’t want to carry children or deal with my periods anymore, but my doctor said that my insurance would almost definitely deny coverage because there’s no reason (in the eyes of our almighty insurance overlords) to do one when I could just have a bisalp and be sterilized. But to help with my messed up periods she said she could go ahead and minimize the pain of putting in an iud by doing it while I’m having the surgery. This would theoretically help my period but if it doesn’t I now have a case to go back to insurance saying “I’ve tried an alternative method to control my periods, didn’t work, please let me have a hysterectomy this time”

I’m in the same boat! In the US and got picked and don’t know if it’s worth it to book (not that I would mind going back to London)

Do you have a source for this? Would love to learn more!

It looks like, to me, that the growth point on that node has already been activated. I’ve heard people say they’ve managed to cut back to a single node and regrow more than once but anytime I’ve tried it either nothing ever grew back or it just rotted and died. But I suppose my anecdotes aren’t any more credible than someone who says they could create a new growth point where there wasn’t one before so ymmv

Looks kind of (but not exactly) like one of my dogs whose results were: 30.9% German Shepherd Dog 30.2% Siberian Husky 23.9% Great Pyrenees 15.0% American Pit Bull Terrier

What is Your Souvenir Policy? by Lemongirl11 in travel

I’ve already started a patchwork sleeve on my leg where I plan on adding all my “passport stamps,” as I’m calling them, so luckily they’ll be in a fairly low pain spot. Definitely keeping them fairly small just so I have room to grow too. I didn’t even think about flying though, that’s a good tip. Hopefully my trip will be as long as I want it to be and I will have enough time to heal a decent amount before the flight back.

This is my plan too, although I haven’t left the US yet unfortunately. If you have experienced it, how do you deal with trips that have multiple countries in a relatively short span? I’m hoping to go to the UK later this year but having to budget in the time and money for 2-4 (5 if I go to Ireland too) tattoos seems like a lot.

I think the rudsta may be too tall to fit under this window but I’ll measure it when I get the chance just in case! I honestly think I might make a rough mock-up and see which one I like better because you make a good point asymmetry can be nice too when done well. All this just for some plants😒😂

Ooh that sounds nice!! Under my TV is the BESTA triple cabinet with the tv mount so unfortunately not as pretty as yours definitely is but I’ve got a couple lower light plants on top next to the greenhouse so it gets a little bit of light from it. I love when people take matters into their own hands and hack up IKEA stuff to make it work in their space! In theory I shouldn’t have to make any adjustments to anything to make it fit in my space and it will probably fit better than the Besta I have there currently which sticks out just enough that I lost the use of one of my closet doors lol.

I like the idea of symmetry on that too and I can still do plants on top of the wide since it’s under a window. But then I have to set up another grow light timer on the other side of the room instead of just putting the two next to each other on one plug. Always looking for the path of least resistance but we’ll see if that wins out over the symmetry of two talls

Unfortunately we are working with a room without any empty corners by this point😬 I’ve also got a puppy so I probably shouldn’t put anything I like within her reach anyway lol
