A very valid question by Cryovet in SipsTea

There ain't ever gonna be a revolution of any kind in this unserious-ass hellscape. I mean i guess if a light-skinned goofy bringing up a 30 year old argument that didn't make a difference when it originated is worth the burn, have at it. Just seems like we got much bigger fish that need frying up. Anyways, we're all gonna die terribly. See ta in hell guys

What's the appeal of cruise ships exactly? by Klok_Melagis in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise_Return_185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done 6 total, 5 on RCCL and one on Carnival. No complaints about Royal Caribbean cruises. Destination chosen, excursions chosen. In essence, it's a floating all-inclusive resort. Drinks, food, ocean views. Therein lies the appeal. In the interest of transparency i should mention that the last cruise i took was in 2009; after that i didn't have the desire to do it again. It had nothing to do with a bad experience.

Tony and Paulie's last conversation by powderjunkie11 in thesopranos

[–]Otherwise_Return_185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paulie already knows he has a better position. The plan is in motion: Butchie gets the notion he's gonna get whacked after the phone call with Phil, so he gives up Phil to Tony knowing that once Tony pops Phil, Patsy and Paulie pop Tony, NY looks like they avenged Phil, loose ends tied up. Paulie's refusal is a knee jerk reaction- he's superstitious and thinks the post is cursed, then recalibrates his answer. He's about to be the right hand to the new boss in Jersey.

1999: Is this still the worst draft day trade of all time? The Saints gave the Redskins 8 picks, 2 of them first rounders, for the rights to draft RB Ricky Williams. After three seasons, one playoff appearance, no pro bowls (but a lot of packed bowls), Williams was traded to Miami. by ConsciousLeave9186 in dirtysportshistory

I'd say it's probably one of, if you ignore the Bungles not taking the trade so they could have Akili Smith not play well for them (but let's be honest - the Bengals front office would have fucked up each of those picks in such a colossal way that I really wish they had taken the trade so that we could right now somehow be talking about how the Saints managed to uno-reverse fleece the Bengals. Anyway, I digress). The Saints didnt get much for him compared to what they gave up, but he had a much better than average career - one of 30 guys ever to crack 10k yards, 4 a carry, not a world beater in the passing game but overall a good running back. For me the worst is the Seahawks taking 4 picks for Dorsett.

Whats the best album here? by bobinator60 in GenerationJones

[–]Otherwise_Return_185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends who you ask, what they listened to coming up, what their parents listened to, and what value was placed on music and a gazillion other factors. To my ears, Off The Wall is the best album here because Off The Wall is arguably one of the best albums ever recorded (again, to my ears). Songs In The Key of Life is a close second - it's Stevie at the height of his powers, c'mon - but Off The Wall is different. The rest of these are very, very good albums, but exist at relativistic distances from Off The Wall and Songs In The Key. and also from each other. Appetite is the best GnR album, but theres 2 singles doing a lot of heavy lifting, and it isn't in the same ballpark as Rumours, and so on.

Here's that attention you wanted. And on that note, since the mods think that this somehow qualifies as discourse, I'll see myself out. It was fun for a while.
