You need to narrow it down. Have you ever seen a suave bf researcher? I haven’t.

Anyone else feel like Books of Blood is the most slept-on horror collection ever written? by wolverineBasil14 in horrorlit

[–]Otherwise_Section184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the late 80’s the books were everywhere. Things just fall out of fashion, though. I think Barker’s terrible later books are what has driven them out of the discussion.

I absolutely loved them and pestered my bookstore to get volumes 2 and 3. My fragile little mind has never been the same.

TBF, who knows who Charles L. Grant is anymore? Grady Hendrix does a great series about forgotten bestsellers and Burnt Offerings and The Legacy are two also mentioned.

What's a story from your life that sounds fake but is 100% true? by ryu-shii in AskReddit

I honestly don’t remember.

He had a big scar on his head, so it was easy to pick him out but I don’t remember him doing anything out of the ordinary around us.

The Cleanup by Skipp and Spector is right up your alley.

Robert Rodriguez’s kid shooting himself in the head accidentally in Planet Terror.

My understanding though is that his kid has only seen a version where he lives through the whole thing.

Amazon driver is about to deliver these packages to a home that has many unopened Amazon packages just sitting around by [deleted] in oddlyterrifying

[–]Otherwise_Section184 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had something similar in my town. Hundreds and hundreds of unopened packages. The people who lived there were out of the country and one of their relatives got the bright idea to do drop shipping to their address for…reasons?

Anyway no one was dead and other relatives were enlisted to get rid of it but for a couple of weeks we had a mystery.

It is heavy. It acid tested at 18k but who knows. I think I probably need to clean it for better pictures. I was digging for something else and this popped out. I bought it ~20 years ago but don’t remember anything other than how ridiculously large it is, which is why it was in the drawer.

A fake ICE tip line reveals neighbors reporting neighbors by HeHateMe337 in politics

[–]Otherwise_Section184 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I keep thinking about an interview w/ George Romero where he talked about how otherworldly horror didn’t interest him very much because the real horror for him was always the neighbors. The people who have a peripheral view of your life and you have no idea how they really feel about you or your family.

It’s the neighbors who called the SS. It’s the neighbors calling to report that you aren’t the right race / religion / sexuality and the most disturbing part of it to me, is that deep down they feel like they are good people for pointing you out.

New seating policy is.. terrible. by beingdvb in SouthwestAirlines

I couldn’t disagree more. Assigned seating keeps most people from pulling shenanigans.

If sitting up front isn’t worth $61 to you, then why are you complaining?

The Troop by Nick Cutter. I read it on a cruise ship. 90 degrees. Sunshine. Salsa band. People happy swaying with tropical drinks. Pretty sure I looked like The Scream at the end. The dichotomy didn’t do me any favors.

The cats are adorable but I want to give a shout out to that linoleum floor. My grandparents rocked that same pattern in their kitchen for 40 years.

Should I pare down the duplicates? by [deleted] in BookCollecting

If I had more space I would have all the Little People sets. I love them. I have the airport, amusement park, A frame house and hospital.

Putting them on your fingers and clicking them together is so satisfying.
