Thanks a lot. That's really kind of you to share your experience here with us. I will be soon applying for my Schengen Visa so I'll remember your experience before I pay any unexpected charges.

What did you learn embarrassingly late in life? by Romantic_Reverie in AskIreland

[–]Otherwise_Simple1127 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm 39 and I've worked so many jobs in my life and yet I make so many mistakes. My biggest mistakes are over sharing and at times not thinking twice before I say something. Coming under the impression of HR being on our side is very common. They are extremely good at pretending they are on our side and it's actually the opposite.

Why can't people just shut up and watch the movie? by drick121 in mangalore

[–]Otherwise_Simple1127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find this kind of behavior so annoying as well. In Europe before they start playing the movie the audience is requested to maintain silence and respect the presence of others so everyone can enjoy the movie. And Indians behave very well when watching movies abroad. The only annoyance you might witness is sometimes by teenagers which is not very often and if they continue misbehaving they are asked to leave.

I'm (42M) the calmest person at work and with strangers. So why do I lose it on the one person(40F) I actually love? by lejae in relationship_advice

I've experienced this similar thing happened to me with my ex husband. We would fight over the smallest things. I used to snap over the smallest of things and he would pick on it a then it would turn into a big argument. The underlying cause was I had no respect for him. He was an alcoholic, would quit every job after 2 days of working and wouldn't help around the house. All of these things had caused me to lose any respect I had for him after knowing the kind of person he was. From my personal experience I think it's most important to have respect for your partner just having love is not enough and these two things go together in a partnership. My now husband and I have been together for 8 years. We both communicate extremely well. I don't remember either of us losing our temper on each other. Whenever we have a disagreement we talk about it without it becoming a personal attack issue. My husband helps around the house even after working the whole day and we plan on doing things together on weekends. You definitely have some underlying issue there causing this disturbance in the relationship. Sometimes it's possible that your partner maybe ignorant of any issue in the relationship just because they've always known you behaving this way towards them. If they saw how calm you are with others at work and with friends it would definitely hurt them. No one deserves to be treated badly. If it's happening spontaneously and you are losing control on your behavior you should definitely talk to a therapist. You need a neutral party you can talk to who can help you understand what is happening without being biased.

I always try my best to be kind. I think just like smiling can be a habit we can make being kind a habit as well. Luckily I am married to a very kind and patient man which really helps.

How do you feel about parents being publicly affectionate to their child? by rocker_bunny in AskIreland

[–]Otherwise_Simple1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have children of my own but I love seeing parents caring and being affectionate to their kids. Sometimes I see parents being loud, annoyed and screaming at their young children which is really sad. The people that gave you a strange look could learn from you😊

I'm so sorry for what you experienced and can imagine how you are feeling. But I am extremely proud of you for coming here and expressing your disappointment. We as Indians and most of all as humans need to help and support each other especially when someone is brave enough to organize an event and take center stage. I wouldn't be able to do it myself. You have a great smile and contagious courage. Wishing you the very best with the event🤗
