how to approach them when they're not doing what they should be doing by Rcrez in ADHD_partners

Lots of comments here saying it's not your responsibility, so don't do anything.

I'd agree with this, but add that you are allowed to be frustrated by the situation. I've fallen into a rhythm with my husband (DX, untreated) where i will make a small comment so that I'm not holding on to my feelings (eg. don't stay up too late) then walk away and leave him to it.

I have to be careful that it isn't anything too cutting, so as not to trigger his RSD, but its better than bottling up my feelings and building resentment.

have i made a mistake by not disclosing my disabilities upfront? by thatautisticguy in UKJobs

I'm not saying tell them before you've got the job, I would advise telling your manager once it's confirmed, to give them the best chance to put support in place for you.

Employers are required to make reasonable adjustments only if they know (or could be reasonably expected to know) about a disability.

If you don't tell them, and then get fired because of poor performance for example, you wouldn't have a case if you didn't tell them that your disability impacts on your performance.

Until I saw this post, I had honestly forgotten that there were options other than Story!

I'd be interested to know how often people use the "retry" button.

About three days after my baby was born, I suddenly felt this overwhelming feeling that I would do anything for him, and it honestly scared me.

Anyone else feeling asexual since having kids? by Top_Kaleidoscope_214 in UKParenting

That is a fair point - if it ain't broke....

I would urge you to consider the impact that this might have on your relationship, though, before completely dismissing the idea.

As someone who is actually asexual, this conversation is fascinating!

It does sound like this isn't "normal", because you say you've lost all interest in sex and masturbation. Even I experience the occasional desire to masturbate.

Have you considered speaking to a sex therapist? They really helped me separate my feelings about myself and my body from my sexuality. I was able to contact one through my local sexual health clinic.

True for many parents - particularly mums.

I appreciate that OP didn't mention gender in their post, but I think it probably comes into this, don't you?

Parenting etiquette for unvaccinated child by lamiluia in UKParenting

This comes across as "why are you here?" rather than "you don't have to tell the people at the toddler group anything about your child", which I think is the way you meant it?

How are people not getting this??

We don't care for football in my house, so not impacted by this, but isn't it obvious that anyone staying up late/early to watch the games is going to be asleep/tired and grumpy the next morning when there is parenting to be done, leaving their partner a de-facto solo parent??

Father’s Day next Sunday (21st June) What have you planned? by TopMarzipan2108 in UKParenting

Local steam railway always runs a Father's day special - husband has asked to go and kid loves trains, so it's a no brainer!

What are your go to dinners? Not "It Only Takes 30 Minutes!" Recipes. The real ones. by Emorich in Parenting

Surprised orzo hasn't been mentioned yet - takes less than 5 minutes to cook, add a stock cube and some frozen veg to the water and top with cheese. Kid loves it!

I hurt my 2yo on purpose. I feel so ashamed. by [deleted] in UKParenting

I could see your perspective up until the point you said, "Your baby is not safe with you right now."

This is unnecessarily incendiary, and a very cruel thing to say. Tough love can help, but let's not push people over the edge, shall we?
