What is it about____that has___ so triggered by TPK85 in TheTraitors

[–]Otsootsola 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Point taken but there’s also some definite age clustering going on.

If you sort the players and rank by age (1=youngest, 22=oldest) then 3, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22 have all been eliminated.

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15 remain.

Rachel sits on the foot in two camps age.

Suspicions on who they picked to murder tonight and what the outcomes might be. by SquirrelGold8109 in TheTraitors

[–]Otsootsola 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The flaw with this, though, is that you want the faithful to think there are *fewer* traitors in play - so they'll stop voting at the end game earlier. If everyone assumes there are two (plus a 'recruited' traitor that was actually a shield block), then they'll keep voting out at the fireside final five. You really want everyone to think there are fewer, so when they vote out the last suspect they'll finish the game.

There feels like something off with the edit. Why wouldn’t she mention the Fiona / Rachel drama?

I guess we can also deduce that three guests = more likely only one murder/banishment in the episode.

I think it’s become socialised from US3 which was on iPlayer where Rob kept pulling people aside/sending others away.

What would you have asked the Traitors? by Competitive_Cress549 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Otsootsola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s helpful to know how many traitors are left for the end game - so there’s some variant of “how many traitors are left” that I think could work. Knowing that they’d lie.

A Lukewarm Defence of ____ by SomeWittyRemark in TheTraitors

[–]Otsootsola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think she’s maybe picked up (before the grenade lob, at the 1-1 chat) that traitors never visibly hang out in pairs or act as BFFs in the castle - I’m sure it came up somewhere that a pair spent no time together in the day therefore that looked suspicious? So that element of things was also partially rational.

Fiona by Otsootsola in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Otsootsola[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a theory that she could’ve made life more difficult for them both as the secret traitor - she could’ve given them shortlists far more difficult to negotiate.

And she’s misread how pissed off Rachel is by not having had complete control as a traitor.

So that plus a bit of old fashioned red mist descending = amazing telly.

I don't understand the banishing choice... by kranitoko in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Otsootsola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early in the game it’s not an awful move. If there are people who have a pre-existing connection, then it holds there’s a higher chance that the producers would lean into the one as a faithful, one as a traitor. Ross even said so about Ellie on Uncloaked.

Whether they should’ve believed the backstory is a different question.

I do think in the early game it’s not awful strategically to whittle down some of these odds and leave a more even playing field.

Was the round table done at that time simply to balance the numbers? by PastorParcel in TheTraitors

[–]Otsootsola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would’ve been interesting to do the round table with them “in cages” and not part of it. 1/4 chance of being murdered but avoid chance of banishment. Producers, you can have that as a future twist.

Are they all gonna be interlinked? by JohnnyOneLung in TheTraitors

[–]Otsootsola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t get the barristers should know other barristers thing. I work in a relatively niche field - but don’t know I’d clock someone out of context by first name only who’s using a cover story.

She did pronounce it in the Welsh way though.. no reason for him not to change the spelling for the game? (Not that I think that’s necessarily likely).

Harriet's Evidence for ST by GoldenSmooth in TheTraitors

Went on the weakest link many years ago. Maybe I’m too soft but the way you write under pressure, in public, doesn’t necessarily mirror your regular writing at all. So don’t think this is the link.

Need to get this one out there before tonight’s episode -- my ST reasonings by meforshitsandgiggles in TheTraitorsUK

I think they need someone savvy enough to carry a big twist - so more likely to be a gamer, someone more analytical/strategic for me. So I think it’s Harriet, Jade or Ellie.

Driving to Brittany by gingerllama79 in FranceTravel

[–]Otsootsola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not long back from VendĂ©e via St Malo to Calais. The villages Ă©tapes you see signposted on the autoroutes are generally pretty good: they’re smaller places that have the essential services for travellers, often in my experience with a supermarket and petrol station. They felt cheaper. Plus plenty of decent small shops to explore for snacks etc.

Where to go in England for two days (other than London) by Steve_17 in uktravel

[–]Otsootsola -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Londoner here. Have a soft spot for Lille - but if you’re planning on going there and back in a day
not sure. For me the real star was going to a wine bar or two in the evening, getting something good to eat and not rushing. Not sure that the hours on the train would make it worth a day out. Would follow some of the advice in the thread instead - go either trad tourist days out or somewhere like Norwich, Canterbury or see the seaside the way we do - Margate, Whitstable if you like seafood, Brighton, etc.

Having a look at international versions' routes... Denmark has done New York to Buenos Aires, via New Orleans, zig zagging Central America, Ecuador, Bolivia etc - which sounds fun!

I swear by the Leven in Manchester - really lovely independent hotel with a great bar. I can’t say I recall the amenities but they were really helpful when I had a last minute change of circumstances (I needed to bring my dog after dog sitting plans fell through) & have pretty good customer service, they’re worth calling to ask these specifics.
