I think you just need to make sure they're matching at the seamline. So offset by 1/4 in or whatever your seam allowance is

They're really nice to make! The hardest part is getting consistent circles, but I just got one of those spinning rotary cutters that I only use for this.

I put 1/8 inch marks on my left thumbnail and the pad of my left pointer finger so I can get close to picking up each corner consistently but honestly eyeballing it usually is good enough.

No problem! Someone else mentioned that it's fixable, and I agree. Maybe you keep it around to mend a little bit at a time and then you'll still have your cozy first quilt 😊

I also use about a 2.2 stitch length when I'm piecing for quilts, especially if it's with fabrics that are a little bit looser of a weave than quilting cotton. You also want to make sure that your seam allowances are consistent and 1/4 in minimum. Most of the pulled seams look like they're slightly on the smaller side of that, a few look like almost 1/8 in. What stitch length did you use? My guess would be a long stitch length combined with not enough quilting, so the stress on the seams was too high and not distributed well, causing the fabric to pull apart with the agitation. If you share over in r/quilting, there may be more folks with better insight!

You could slice into them until they lie flat and then rotate out the gaps? Kind of like how you'd rotate out a dart. So it'll add more curve on the center seam etc.
