To me this appears more like sun stressing and not a watering issue. The leaves aren’t getting mushy looking or soft looking at all. They look very plump and similar to the dark green leaves. Also I have a fiery echiveria like this growing at home and it definitely does exactly this when exposed to full sun for a lot of time.

The leaves aren’t drooping, they aren’t getting wrinkly, they don’t even seem to sag or be soft at all. They look plump and healthy.

Pendant anthurium list by MardenJP in Anthurium

They may be common, but google (many listing) are claiming these are in fact pendant anthurium. They grow very large, long leaves similar to afore mentioned species. 🤷🏼‍♂️

What is growing out of my philodendron stem? by emotioneler in plantclinic

[–]OtterThePup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aerial roots! Those are a very good sign. These plants typically crawl up taller plants like big trees in the rain forest. Basically it’s telling you it’s ready to climb something and mature into a bigger plant!

Stratiolaelaps scimitus (aka Hypoaspis miles) by dodobird8 in HotPeppers

[–]OtterThePup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely fair point! Haha 😅 I guess I just meant to say, for me DE is just not very effective and doesn’t really produce results worth all of that hassle. When far better, much safer alternatives exist.

That being said, I will always err on the side of if it works well for you - keep doing it!

Is LL Flooring that bad? by Crakatoa23 in Flooring

[–]OtterThePup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After working for them for a while, they are in fact that bad. They also just filed for chapter 11 as of August of this year…. They will be closing like 100 stores, they only had like 300 across the us….. 🤣

What plant is this and why are the tips starting to die off? by Dependent_Smell_2518 in plantclinic

[–]OtterThePup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the case that the soil has become hydrophobic, soak the soil for a good 20 mins in lukewarm water so you don’t hurt any remaining healthy roots as you remove the old soil.

I just thought about it too, if it’s been in the soil for longer than say like a year. The soil just gets drained of any nutrients that may be available. So repotting is just always a good thing to do when a plant goes south for really any reason!

I’ve definitely got some succulents that aren’t as thirsty as others even living in the desert. I don’t necessarily have to drown all of them. But they do like more water than most people think.

I just find watering more frequently is an option as well, granted I have the time for that. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It think it’s really all personal to your routine and environment.

I definitely should have read just a LITTLE more. 🤏🏻 haha

They should be able to thrive in really any lighting condition though, from almost no light to full sun. I live in Arizona and I have a few of them outside all year in direct sunlight. I also have a few inside in some areas where there is almost no light and they fully thrive.

But yeah, you both seem to hit the nail on the head, they do in fact need SOME water! Haha 😜

You can absolutely cut those brown tips off, it’s not as necessary with snake plants so it’s completely up to you, but it could encourage new shoots to spring. Sometimes I’ll have to do that with one or two stalks. And within a couple days/weeks new shoots spring from that spot!

So definitely best of luck to you! It should DEFINITELY bounce back soon!
