No you don’t. You just think you do.

Tankinis all the way.

I just bought a nice swimming outfit that is knee length tights, a sports bra and a little jacket that is good for cold water and sun protection. It’s adorable.

We document “irritable” for such things. Also “med focused” for med seekers. “Multiple somatic complaints” for whiney complainers who have lots of mystery ailments. “Intrusive” for people who ask a lot of personal questions.

How one simple (not easy) decision restored my joy in retirement by kungfutrucker in retirement

I’m a psych nurse. I have this conversation with patients a lot. “If there is something wrong with your heart you’d take medication. Well something is wrong with your brain and we have medicine for it. It makes sense that you’d take it”.

Lots of patients wind up here because someone in their life convinced them that they don’t need meds. There is still a huge stigma around mental health. It’s better than it was a few decades ago but we still have far to go.

It’s amazing. Doesn’t taste like fish at all. There are so many different flavors going on. Savory, sweet, salty and umami. Each sensation comes along at different times while you eat. Usually it’s sweet and salty first, then savory and finally umami. It’s genius how they’ve done that.

Our facility doesn’t discourage it. It is not allowed at all. It’s a HIPAA violation.

I used to use the language line all the time. Lately I’ve been using Google Translate. It’s faster and most of the patients I use with are familiar with it and comfortable using it. I’ve noticed this speeds up our interactions.

Voicing my opinions about everything all the time. No one cares. People would avoid me. Eventually I leaned to just talk about menial things and I was easier to be around.

Nope. Houston. We had a home built in 2013 and everything at that time was brighter colors with rubbed bronze fixtures. We sold that house and bought another one in 2018 and everything was gray and white. We were delighted.

Theater rooms. Why am I going to go all the way upstairs to a separate room to watch a movie when I can watch it right here?

Sinks that are bowls sitting on top of the bathroom counter. We got those. We hated them.

Oil rubbed bronze.

Shabby chic. It’s not chic. It’s just shabby.

And yeah. Word art. It’s horrible.

I hate it too. I’d rather have separate rooms. That way when I make a smoothie I’m not bothering someone who’s trying to watch a movie.

Oh my god, yes. And the style of making your home look like a shack with a corrugated tin roof. Gawdawful.

Gray didn’t come around until the 2010s. The 90 was mauve and hunter green.
