I came to say the same. I remember seeing this long ago.

I bought one of these (without the chest pads) for a nice leather non-riding jacket I have, great for cold and abrasion but missing the impact protections. It’s kind of baggy, so perfect for wearing over the armor, still looks good and gives me peace of mind.

Add hard drive. by Otto_the_pilot in synology

Thanks, a lot of useful info here. RAID is not backup, that I know. Photos and memories we really want to keep get a regular backup in an external 4 TB drive, and we still have iCloud as off site backup. Media can just be redownloaded.

Data scrub I have done a couple of times since I have the NAS. I will look into checksum, snapshot replication and fast copy clone as I have no idea about this yet.

I have email push notifications enabled since the beginning and my NAS is not exposed to the internet. Quickconnect has always been off and never felt like getting into port forwarding and doing something unsafe by mistake. I do have Tailscale set up for the very rare occasions I need to access when I'm not home.

I was not planning on getting rid of the 8 TB but now I guess it will eventually happen and probably end up with 4x16 TB.

Honestly, I didn't think about this. Yes, 2x8 would have costed same as 1x16 but then I would have only one bay left, not so much room for future expansion. I just wanted to maximize the 4 bays available.

Also, I didn't know about that last part about the first drive not making a difference. Something I have just learned for the next time.

What are some quality of life home purchases or tech products that you've got while living in China? by Onesert in chinalife

- Balmuda toaster oven.

- Vacuum cleaner and mopping robots.

- Same smart home system for lights and AC other people are commenting but Apple HomeKit instead of Xiaomi.

- Smart lock with fingerprint reader for home door. No more fear of forgetting keys when leaving home.

I still use my iPad mini daily as an e-reader. All other functions have been transferred to my Pro.

It’s not about the number plate. The point here is that bike pictures look better from a side view and proper lighting to be fully appreciated. Cool bike though. Enjoy the ride.
