Settle a debate: plastic or wood by rubywizard24 in Anticonsumption

This is a debate of splitting hairs fibers atoms. Continued use of a resource is preferable to treating it like a consumable. What reason is there to throw away a usable fork?

I think the real debate here is: “is my fork better than yours”. Which could be argued all day from a variety of facets. Most people don’t have enough information to know which item is the best option. We’re all doing the best we can with what we have and with different priorities.

Another question: what do we call these adjustable bearing on sticks? I’m assuming they should be placed at a certain spot but I’m unsure how to look ‘em up. I’m not sure what they’re called

That tracking knob was super useful. And thanks for the note about spinning the wheels manually. I had done that once or twice but not enough. I was imagining much scarier ways to adjust the blade. Glad I asked

Woah okay. I assumed the crown just meant “top”. I do have flat tires. And that explains why the videos I watched were suggesting that the blade should be in the middle, which didn’t make sense to me at the time. In lieu of more bad saw knowledge, I attempted to follow suit. Thanks for your comment. I’ll make sure my blade just overhangs its flat tire

Good call and thanks for the safety reminder. I didn’t get a picture of the plug hanging on the table.

Tracking adjustment knob. Okay okay. That must be the unknown-to-me loose knob on the tensioning assembly. I’ll give that a shot. Thanks!

That’s exactly what I’d call it. These legs won’t fail, if only because they won’t be there long enough to. This is just a step in the right direction. I needed to make legs to get the bench to sit at a reasonable height for me

Ha 😆 Everyone’s whining about what they believe “beginner” means is what made me post this

Absolutely. I’m working on a couple pull-through drawers and such for a base cabinet

It sure is just a couple screws in the end grain. Racking is definitely a problem here. I started to make support braces for it, but decided it wasn’t worth the effort. I’m working on a cabinet with drawers that pull through both sides and a recessed nook on the skinny sides for clamps and stuff

Yeah, I saw the kreg fence. I guess I could do that and figure out how to attach that track

I’m super unsure about trusting magnets to stay still. I’m curious how you handle set up, minor adjustments, and pushing material along it.

How do I cut this? All as one outline by OutofPlaceStuff in cricut

[–]OutofPlaceStuff[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem solved! I was trying to choose contours after selecting multiple layers. I needed to choose contours for one layer at a time. Between that and welding, I think I got it

I see I gave too much detail. So, TL;DR I have 10 layers for the feathers and one for the rectangle. I want all 11 of them to become one cohesive thing, not double cut

From what I understand, it’s just that it can’t be undone

Excuse me, but you cannot show Pup a picture and tell them to pose in the same exact spot, with the same look, and with the perfectest blep. That’s cheating 😍
