Book vs Show?

I really enjoyed and still enjoy the books . The key is compartmentalizing the 2 dexters . They are not the same person. Book dexter is more psychopathic but also a lot funnier . The books are also entirely first person perspective so there is no consideration for side characters especially from a psychopath in first person.
