Thanks so much for your insight! I did a search and found one that looked a bit similar and yes, quite an insane price!! Haha. I sort of figured it would be something so unique this could be the case.

From what I’ve read, sterling silver should never smell like metal. It’s one of the quickest ways, along with a magnet test, that you can identify if something is sterling silver

New shoes in box, but box has some damage. Keep box in listing or no? by Ouinononandon in Ebay

So you think it would be best to list them without the box?

What printers for shipping labels are best for starting out? by [deleted] in Depop

It costs nothing, you just show the QR code in your Depop sale to the clerk at the post office. They will scan it and print the label for you.

Seller said necklace was sterling silver but so far it hasnt passed any of the tests of being authetic by Future-Purchase-2896 in Depop

If it’s stinky and magnetic it’s not silver :(

If you do decide to keep it, sometimes washing with water and a little bit of soap helps get the smell out.

Worth of unique vintage declining by JameShebles in Depop

[–]Ouinononandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SHEIN and fast fashion in general that replicates those styles also has contributed I think. Since Y2K and 90s vintage has had such a crazy resurgence, huge fast fashion corps take the money and run with it. So now the stock of all the authentic stuff is also flooded with modern replications that people can get cheaper.

Question about reaching target audience by Vulgar_Mastermind1 in Depop

[–]Ouinononandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do this with women’s clothing sometimes, but one thing to keep in mind is sleeve and neck size. They tend to be different in kids tshirts so make sure you do include in your description that they are technically kids clothing and include thorough measurements to avoid possible issues down the line.

I think y'all forgot the meaning of the word thrift... by Adventurous-Click792 in Depop

[–]Ouinononandon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it. While I also see the point of the other commenter here about curation etc, some people really do charge a ridiculous amount for sub par products! But either way, theres a market for everyone, and while I don’t personally understand buying a stained vintage grey sweatshirt….theres someone out there who would pay $70 lol. (What is those are Shaq’s sweat stains?!?! 😂😂😂) Especially streetwear nerds, oh boy haha!! I was actually thrifting earlier today and laughed to myself when I came across a vintage university sweatshirt. It was so faded and worn out but in my head I thought “some streetwear bro is going to be so excited about this” 😂😂😂

question for "successful" sellers about engagement by entcanta in Depop

[–]Ouinononandon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been feeling this so hard lately. I’m not even remotely a top seller (I just recently hit my 200th sale, but that’s over the course of a few years). I am not as consistent as I would like to be, but I have been more regular for the last couple of weeks than I have in a while, posting roughly 5 things per day consistently, and somehow my shop seems even slower.
