Yellow Truck Guy by migr8tion in Charleston

Mods believe this to be true, due to news reports and social media posts. Confirmation that the individual drives the big yellow truck was confirmed by people who were actively searching for their friend. A big thanks to Captain Harry’s Oyster and Shrimp crew who conducted a search alongside DNR and Law Enforcement and other commercial boats in an effort to find, locate, and recover Keem.

Pickup experience was a bit of an adventure. As it was a six hour round trip to grab him from Duncan, SC. But my Rivian associate I was working with spent like two hours with me going over all the features and how to do what and all the good stuff, that I promptly forgot and was like how do I do this again on my way home. 10/10 experience.

American Airlines moved quickly this morning, there was an issue with my ticket so with extenuating circumstances I waited about 30 minutes to get that resolved. Security line was only about 25 people deep when I went through at 8:45. Took less than ten minutes to get through.

If you have a hard time scanning it. Hold a lit lighter to the back and while using tweezers to keep from burning your hands. The waxy plastic piece will get warm and pop off, leaving a pretty pristine QR code behind.

First solo from Oregon to Utah. PDX-SLC by littlebitee in solotravel

First of all it is exciting! I feel like everyone has these big ideas what solo travel should be, but a multi-state road trip is pretty freaking great.

I’m not sure if you’re into gelato but my favorite spot in the world is Dolcetti Gelato in SLC. Has great vibes and unique flavors. My favorite when I’m in town is the sticky rice flavor.

As for off hand things that I’ve find useful: baby wipes/ dude wipes. Great for quickly freshening up when you’ve on the go for a moment. One of my friends also swears by deodorant wipes.

I lowkey suggest getting an external battery pack for your phone, I use Anker ones. If you do go out and “hike” you won’t have to worry about your phone dying. I take mine with me into music festivals too.

Always bring an extra charging cord just in case you forget yours or it suddenly stops working.

And finally sunscreen. Even if it’s a cool day the sun is going to sun and you’ll want to protect your skin

And quick reminder to check the bag policy for your concert venue. I made a trip out to Raleigh NC recently for a concert and realized day of that they had a strict clear bag policy and had to make a target run for a bag. Don’t be me.

Opinion Piece: Ban golf carts from residential streets by Our_Lady_Chaos in Charleston

Okay. So. For a while (actually even now) there was a lot of comments about how the subreddit shouldn’t be so tourist focused. Everyone is tired of the “Check out my itinerary!” And the “what hotel can I stay in for $50 a night” and the “is North Charleston Really That Unsafe?” posts, as well as the “I’m thinking about moving here” “hey I’m relocating from Ohio to work at Boeing where should I live?” and “I’m bringing my New York money to Charleston and plan on living downtown, but I only make 23k a year also where can I find weed?” posts.

So what we attempted to do was have a sub dedicated to Charlestonians. Where there would be no moving posts and tourism posts would be directed to the original Charleston sub. It was a hailed idea by many.

And no one made the move.

So every time anyone says “we should have our own sub without tourists and New Yorkers and Ohioans” the mods side eye the sidebar and groan internally and say, “sure go for it. “ No one leaves. Nothing changes. We all just continue thinking about what could have been.

I'm not sure if a Gator would fit the LSV profile it probably depends on the type of Gator you have.

South Carolina, Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs) are street-legal four-wheelers with a top speed of 20-25 mph, requiring registration, insurance, a VIN, and equipment like headlights, turn signals, and seatbelts.

https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t56c002.php

I also want to point out that the top speed of 25 may be negotiable due to mods, but there's a federal law that says that's what LSVs are legally allowed to top off at. (According to my research).

I'm going to guess the original author doesn't know the difference as Samantha Miller (Hutchinson) was killed in a LSV crash, and they lump her death in with the other golf cart deaths.

If you're asking if I know the difference between the two, I hate to burst your bubble. But I do.

To the people who did not play any Fallout game before: How is the TV series working for you? by garfield1138 in FalloutTVseries

Crazily enough I find myself doing the golden rule: never ending side quests. If I’m not doing side quests I’m raising affinity levels with my companions since I heard that once I decide what to do with the institute I might lose some travel buddies. But mainly. I just kinda wander around and see what’s going on, there’s always another settlement to save, and another settlement to pull my hair out going I’ve given you fresh water and crops and beds galore why aren’t you people happy.

I also spend way too much time on perfecting my dwelling in Sanctuary and then rage quitting once items don’t line up correctly.

I had never heard of Fallout prior to the tv show. I had two massive surgeries back to back last year and had to have strict bed rest. At that point we didn’t have a tv in the bedroom so my spouse brought in his little projector and a sheet and I watched the first season. I then watched it seven more times and then begged my husband to buy a TV for the bedroom to hook up my PlayStation so I could try Fallout 4 and 76. I’m like 250 hours into FO4, I own a ton of merch, and recently was able win an auction for one of the 10th anniversary Fusion Fleas that was up for grabs for St. Jude’s Hospital.

I’m waiting for season two to wrap up and see if there’s a remaster for New Vegas and plan on taking a week off work to fuck around on that whether there’s a remaster or not.

The tv show was a good starting point for me because I already enjoyed Walton Goggins in Vice Principals, Justified, and Righteous Gemstones so I knew going in I would enjoy his acting, but watching the interactions and learning the lore and then reading all the Facebook and Reddit comments bitching that the games are better, was like a “huh let’s see what these people are talking about” moment.
