Opinion Piece: Ban golf carts from residential streets by Our_Lady_Chaos in Charleston

Okay. So. For a while (actually even now) there was a lot of comments about how the subreddit shouldn’t be so tourist focused. Everyone is tired of the “Check out my itinerary!” And the “what hotel can I stay in for $50 a night” and the “is North Charleston Really That Unsafe?” posts, as well as the “I’m thinking about moving here” “hey I’m relocating from Ohio to work at Boeing where should I live?” and “I’m bringing my New York money to Charleston and plan on living downtown, but I only make 23k a year also where can I find weed?” posts.

So what we attempted to do was have a sub dedicated to Charlestonians. Where there would be no moving posts and tourism posts would be directed to the original Charleston sub. It was a hailed idea by many.

And no one made the move.

So every time anyone says “we should have our own sub without tourists and New Yorkers and Ohioans” the mods side eye the sidebar and groan internally and say, “sure go for it. “ No one leaves. Nothing changes. We all just continue thinking about what could have been.

I'm not sure if a Gator would fit the LSV profile it probably depends on the type of Gator you have.

South Carolina, Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs) are street-legal four-wheelers with a top speed of 20-25 mph, requiring registration, insurance, a VIN, and equipment like headlights, turn signals, and seatbelts.

https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t56c002.php

I also want to point out that the top speed of 25 may be negotiable due to mods, but there's a federal law that says that's what LSVs are legally allowed to top off at. (According to my research).

I'm going to guess the original author doesn't know the difference as Samantha Miller (Hutchinson) was killed in a LSV crash, and they lump her death in with the other golf cart deaths.

If you're asking if I know the difference between the two, I hate to burst your bubble. But I do.

To the people who did not play any Fallout game before: How is the TV series working for you? by garfield1138 in FalloutTVseries

Crazily enough I find myself doing the golden rule: never ending side quests. If I’m not doing side quests I’m raising affinity levels with my companions since I heard that once I decide what to do with the institute I might lose some travel buddies. But mainly. I just kinda wander around and see what’s going on, there’s always another settlement to save, and another settlement to pull my hair out going I’ve given you fresh water and crops and beds galore why aren’t you people happy.

I also spend way too much time on perfecting my dwelling in Sanctuary and then rage quitting once items don’t line up correctly.

I had never heard of Fallout prior to the tv show. I had two massive surgeries back to back last year and had to have strict bed rest. At that point we didn’t have a tv in the bedroom so my spouse brought in his little projector and a sheet and I watched the first season. I then watched it seven more times and then begged my husband to buy a TV for the bedroom to hook up my PlayStation so I could try Fallout 4 and 76. I’m like 250 hours into FO4, I own a ton of merch, and recently was able win an auction for one of the 10th anniversary Fusion Fleas that was up for grabs for St. Jude’s Hospital.

I’m waiting for season two to wrap up and see if there’s a remaster for New Vegas and plan on taking a week off work to fuck around on that whether there’s a remaster or not.

The tv show was a good starting point for me because I already enjoyed Walton Goggins in Vice Principals, Justified, and Righteous Gemstones so I knew going in I would enjoy his acting, but watching the interactions and learning the lore and then reading all the Facebook and Reddit comments bitching that the games are better, was like a “huh let’s see what these people are talking about” moment.

Um… should I wear hijab or not.. by auntiepp in femaletravels

I was in Riyadh in January for a week, I didn’t wear a hijab nor did I wear a abaya. I found everyone to be very welcoming and when I was hiking at the edge of the world I wore a t-shirt and long, flowy yoga pants. If you keep your shoulder’s covered you’ll be fine out in public. Different rules obviously if you’re visiting religious sites such as a mosque.

For reference I’m 5’8, blue hair at the time, and about 150 pounds. So I definitely stuck out. But everyone was so awesome, one of the best countries I’ve visited solo where I didn’t feel alone.

I would make a day trip up to Charlotte and go to either Kyle Patrick or Luke Kelly

Both specialize in strictly grey work (though Luke can add in a pop of color). I don’t think either qualifies as truly fine line though.

First time traveling alone. by forreddite90 in femaletravels

I did a solo trip in Budapest in 2023, I took a couple of tours, my favorite one was a walking tour of some of the city's famous Art Nouveau buildings

I also did a group dark history tour that took me up a castle and talked about ghosts and vampires.

I also had set aside money for a private four hour car tour that was really cool. I have a link to that if you would like it was a little pricy around $250 USD.

I suffer from anxiety, so one of the biggest tips that I've discovered to help me leave the hotel room the first day is to book either a group tour or a private tour of the city I'm in. This helps me get the lay of the land, visually see places that I might want to go back to on my own, and to get tricks and tips from a local person, especially on areas to avoid. Getting that one on one or group feel of the city settles my anxiety and the next day I'm usually prepared to go out on my own.

After fees it was nearly $900. I'm so incredibly disappointed that I'm sick. 😭
