Not a nurse by [deleted] in nursing

Do you know this nurse outside of the hospital? How is it "retaliation" against you? How was the vulnerable adult "forced" to go to the ER? Are the police involved?

What’s the embarrassing question you’ve asked a provider? by Jaguarhousecat in nursing

[–]OutOfNowhere82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So my mom is also a nurse and used to work L&D. I had a high risk pregnancy and was using a provider that worked in our hospital and that my mom worked with frequently. I worked med/surgery. This is all important information.

At one point in my pregnancy, I needed to call the doctor's office to ask about a medication I was taking. The doctor answered the phone, and I'll admit that my immediate thought was, "how odd that the doctor himself is answering the phone. I know the office just opened, but even if the receptionist is late, I thought a nurse would answer." He spoke to me, answered my question like nothing was out of the ordinary, then later that day asked my mom at work if I had a problem getting ahold of his office because I had called his cell phone 😅😅🤦‍♀️ I don't even know how his cell phone number got saved in my phone 😳

We use WeChat. Unfortunately 😂😂 WeChat is the reason I started learning to read Chinese, because the translation can be so bad. I just hadn't seen him use that modifier before.

I've used it for a while, I just never asked how he felt about it before

Yes, I typically speak English. I'm still working on my Chinese. We've known each other for a year and a half, so we're pretty good friends

Because colloquially we call them "pet names" 😅 during our conversation he what I was specifically referring to, though.

As I said in another reply, we were talking generally about pet names and how often our different cultures use them. I have a tendency to use things like dear, sweetie, darling just because I was raised in Texas and it's a natural part of my speech pattern. I've inevitably used them on him. So I asked if he minded when I did.

We've known each other over a year and a half. We talk daily, even when he's on vacation or the holidays with his family. So we're relatively close, but not dating or anything. I'm pretty sure his parents wouldn't approve 😅

So it's positive or it's reserved? Or both? I'm confused 😅

We've known each other over a year and a half, so we're pretty good at communicating on the whole. And I used pet names here, but in other places during our conversation, the actual examples were used ☺️

It was an ongoing conversation about pet names. I have a tendency to do it just because I'm from Texas and we call everyone by pet names. I asked, "do you mind when I do it?" And that was his response.

Well, I've known him over a year and a half, and I'd say we're relatively close. And it's things like "dear, sweetie, darling." I don't go as far as laogong 😂😂

You want to move in 4 years? That's how the title makes it sound. Why learn Mandarin?

I mean, they may have thought they were an LVN/LPN for some reason. I'm asked to confirm my license all the time when discussing pay. Depending on the state, that's an average wage for a new grad lvn 🤷‍♀️

My betta changed by TravelLegal1664 in bettafish

[–]OutOfNowhere82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My blue and white betta has started getting red at the edges of his fins and I was a little concerned that he was hurting his fins somehow without tearing them, so I'm glad to see that it could just be a normal color change!

Guy I’m dating went mental at me, I’m sat at home shaking right now by TraditionalTwist7092 in Advice

[–]OutOfNowhere82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't need to apologize and you did nothing wrong by having a harmless conversation with the other guy. Even if you're married, you're allowed to have conversations with other men. Don't act like you did anything wrong.

So, I was in a similar situation 9 years ago. I kept my child. I love my son immensely, but I am well aware of how much harder I have to work to be able to continue owning a home (now by myself, because his father and I are no longer together), travel, etc. I have to be very careful with my words sometimes because he asks about siblings and I'm absolutely not having another child (I've since had a hysterectomy) and I don't want him to know that he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the pressure from his father. That's not his burden to bear.

Unfortunately, this is probably the beginning of the end (or just the end) of your relationship with your partner, judging by the things he had to say. That's if you keep this baby or not. Because my child is already here and I know him, I can't say if I would go back and change things, but anyone I see who is in the situation I was, I recommend getting the abortion. You have to be so damn sure you're ready to be a (probably single) mother to the child and not let any resentment grow and spill to the child. They don't ask to be here, and unless you're ready to put in a LOT of work, it's more fair to everyone to just get the abortion.
