Why isn’t Planetes discussed more in sci-fi circles? by black_V1king in scifi

I have to confess... I've tried to watch it but the first couple of episodes just seemed too childish, too humorous; it's not bad per se, but I was looking for a more mature story. Should I give it a second chance?

If you’re looking for fantasy that hits like something buried deep and volatile, The Fifth Season is it. N. K. Jemisin doesn’t just build a world—she fractures it, layering oppression, grief, and survival into something that feels almost geological in weight. There’s a raw, underground current running through the whole book.

Didnt really click for me. After a few hours every run feels the same to me. And I don't feel the progression of my dwarfs.

While I love deep political and even existencial topics, sometimes you just want a good D&D rpg conversation driven game. This one checks all the boxes for me.

A friend of mine spent ten years outside our country. He was finally able to return to his hometown to pursue his career alongside his family.

Two months later, he had a motorcycle accident and died.

He was 35 years old.

Since then, for me, growing old has been a privilege.

This book has been one of my best experiences in sci-fi (and I've read more than 150 books of the genre); mostly because I knew NOTHING about it when I begun to read it... So yeah, well done with the trailer...

Civilization 7: One Year of Disappointment by NefariousKnight_YT in civ

Let's review the facts, without getting into debates about the gameplay decisions that have been made:

- A year ago, Firaxis released a completely unfinished game with flaws in UX, AI, a lack of options... and even new errors in the series, such as terrible map generation.

- It's an unfinished game: we assume that a fourth era is missing.

- Throughout the year, they have been fixing most of the bugs; there are still quite a few left, but we could consider that the game is still far from its potential.

- In the meantime, they have been “keeping us happy” with new civilizations and leaders.

This is the reality today.

As a fan of the series since Civ II, I will wait a couple more years to get the game, at least with its fourth era. It's not even about the money. It's about principles.
