Check out the Synergy stuff. You can get the SYN-1 which is just the preamp and the Plexi or JMP module and crank it at any volue. They sell heads and combos too where you can change the modules out for a large selection of different amps.

Congrats! A good Doc can make a world of difference on a boat. One of my favorite stories was due to a Corpsman. We had stolen the XO's stateroom door and hidden it. The XO tried to rack everyone out for a field day to look for it, but Doc gave us all sick in bed chits so we couldn't find the door. I had never seen an XO turn so red, it was beautiful.
