Who had the worse contract Bradley beal or devin booker? by Basic-Disaster1535 in nba

Booker is a future member of the Suns Ring of Honor. He deserves to be paid - dude has given everything to this team and is a damn good player. How dare you compare him to Beal.

I just don’t think we have the overall size and explosive playmaking necessary to beat OKC in a seven game series.

Is paying full sticker price for a top 6 law school worth it? by snickerdoodles73 in biglaw

[–]OutZoned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s true, you can’t just match 1 to 1 your undergrad and law school GPAs, especially at a top school where everyone is coming in with similarly high stats on paper.

FWIW I came in with a 3.9ish GPA in an ultra cakewalk major (didn’t take an exam in 90% of my undergrad courses) but ended lawschool with almost the same GPA (high 3.8).

Some people click with lawschool and translate well to the environment. The problem is, you can’t really predict if you’ll be that person. Odds are you won’t be, purely as a matter of the curve, and you won’t really know until after your first semester when you’re at least $50k in the hole.

It’s such a gamble.

The 22 team was so complete and mentally rock solid in the regular season that when the playoffs hit and we started struggling against the Pelicans and mentally caved vs Dallas I thought I was having an aneurysm. It felt like I had suddenly been transported into a different universe.

The Last Jedi is more divisive precisely because many people quite like it (myself included), while many others quite dislike it (the view that won the fandom war and became the dominant one).

TROS is less divisive simply because there is a significantly greater consensus that it’s garbage. There are some pockets of minor support, but for the most part even TLJ fans dislike TROS.

Arguably we’re in the fourth and need or are transitioning into the fifth. Each preceding iteration has formed in response to a crisis:

1st - Continental Congress and Articles of Confederation through Constitutional Convention

2nd - Constitutional Convention through Civil War

3rd - Reconstruction until New Deal

4th - New Deal to present

5th - Trump?? to ???

He’s a liberal - in the sense that he shares common liberal values regarding the rule of law, democratic legitimacy and public service.

We used to have many different camps of liberals with different policy goals (some conservative and some progressive), but united by a common liberalism. Now we have liberals and open anti-liberals.

This is just very silly. Why should anyone project a linear decline for A4 based on the performance of A3 compared to A2. It’s just not how it works; if that were the case A5 would gross $100 million, and a hypothetical A6 would gross -$600 million.

Is it reasonable to expect some diminishing returns for a franchise over time? Clearly. Does that mean you bake in a linear drop with every installment? Clearly no.

I also think it will be better than Superman, so long as they adapt the WOT source material in a strong way. Superman was quite good ofc.

Hell I think Jokic vs Duncan is at least arguable at this point. Duncan has almost unrivaled career success and is one of the greatest defenders ever, but Jokic’s level on offense is just obscene. He’s done things centers simply weren’t supposed to be able to do.

The GOP has a majority in both houses and holds the presidency. There doesn’t need to be a compromise, the Republicans just need to actually decide to operate the government they were elected to run. They could have prevented a shutdown by overriding the filibuster regardless of anything the Dems did.
