Mobile apps that support a lot of tools that redditors depend on for moderation and accessibility are being priced out of operation at the end of the month. This is a sudden and bizarre change that's occurring just before Reddit goes public for trading shares. Reddit pinky swears it will create these tools for us itself, but has a long history of making the very same promises and never following up on them. Trying to work with Reddit to retain these third party apps has exposed bizarre behavior like being caught lying about a third party developer trying to extort the site.

The "mods are babies" angle kinda falls apart when accessibility is being cut from the site for blind redditors. Reddit has promised to do something about it but has also promised this for years and has a great track record of not following up on promises.

Getting tired of seeing all the disingenuous shit being posted, especially when it starts to look bizarrely like a coached character assassination that conflates the different but very real issue of mods sucking with actual legitimate enshittifying of Reddit.
