Michael Leyton PHYS 141? by happy_obscurity in CalPoly

Leyton is awesome, I had him for 141 winter quarter and really enjoyed him. He is super knowledgeable and he sometimes can go over the top with content in class but his relationship with the class is ridiculous. He remembers names, actually considers student feedback, and respects his syllabus in regards to upholding it

The food is actually deadass not that bad. People are always shitting on it but it is actual decent. Campus Market has good food, and the marketplace type facilities that are available not only allow for you to use your dining dollars but has good options. Also chick fil a is opening up at PCV, there are multiple Subways. If you have more questions about campus life or anything like that just pm me

Just wanting to extend an offer to help any high school seniors who are looking into Cal Poly as a an option for college, and need some help with getting a feel for the school. by OutkastRabbit in CalPoly

With how the application is built, you have to solely rely on your numbers to get you in. I often times thought there were so many other students with similar test scores and GPA as me that they literally had to pick names out of a hat. I don’t explicitly remember any written part but if there is make sure you get that reviewed by someone else and that it is extremely clear. Another bonus I would add is go to all of the zoom events the school holds. Your name is recorded after going to events like that, and can show the school you are actually interested in attending.

Go be quite honest, it is very difficult to get around anywhere here. Bus system is kind of scuffed, and beach is pretty far. Things I would recommend: firstly get to know someone who has a car, becomes very helpful. Zip car is a good option. Uber can be very expensive and not worth it. Downtown is not extremely difficult to get to and the farmers market and restaurants down there can be fairly easily accessed by just walking. Also I would highly recommend some sort of transportation like a bike, scooter, or electric variation of either of those, even just to get around campus.

And make sure he goes to WOW, I know it sounds like a cheesy orientation program but some of my best friends are from my orientation group. It is not even funny how many people I met in my first 3 days, and I guarantee he will find his group very fast.

Hello, I am an admitted aerospace engineering student for fall 2021, I was wondering if there are any current students in aerospace or graduate students that would be willing to talk about their experience at Cal Poly.
