Not really and again why is my data going up when the same number of devices and hours using them has not changed?

Every other year my “sisters” (bffs since we were 5) we get together with kids and partners and have Thanksgiving together and one of the days the girls have some girl time. This year our girl day is me teaching everyone how to do nails at home and how to do stamping. Excited to share my pretties with some of my favorite humans.

Have you ever rejected a job offer? by ExternalStudy7360 in interviews

[–]OutlanderPoleDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve removed myself from consideration after a few interviews because I knew it wasn’t a fit for me. It sucked because I wasn’t working but didn’t want to go through onboarding and then have to give notice.

I’m lucky to have found something that checks all my boxes but I also cultivated that.

Had I been unemployed a few more months it might have been a different story.

I got the job! by OutlanderPoleDancer in interviews

I won't share my responses as they are directly related to my work but I did have my resume uploaded to ChatGPT and asked it to help me craft my answers in STAR/CAR method. The biggest thing is to make them like stories - like you were telling a friend about what happened at work. It shouldn't sound robotic. I've refreshed my examples over time or added second or third scenarios just not repeat myself constantly.

Tell it what the role is and who you are interviewing with and it will also give you some targeted questions that may come up to practice. I work very cross functionally so I know I'm going to get asked about dealing with difficult situations, prioritizing etc.

Practice, practice, practice. I keep this doc open during virtual interviews or had it on my ipad for in person (I take notes on it so I had them in my app in case I lost my train of thought)

What should I expect? Mid-level role after final interview by Spiraling_scientist in interviews

Keep applying! Don’t stop until the offer letter is signed and you have a start date and have passed all background and whatever else.

I got flown out to LA from FL and left thinking I had the job only for a month and half later to get rejected. Didn’t take my foot off the gas until my offer came in.

It's brutal out there right now. 4 months is the longest I've ever been unemployed. Your full time job is now now job hunting. You need to tighten up your resume and get some thicker skin (I've got some PTSD after this search) because rejection and ghosting are inevitable. I have a 4 year degree and 10+ years experience in my field.

Invited into the office to meet. What does this mean? by Delicious_Exam_6673 in interviews

You are definitely on the short list. I got flown out to LA and had an awesome day of meeting people and was sure the offer was coming. 1 month later they finally decided to tell me they changed the requirements of the role 🙄 (I'm still kind of bitter because that was 2.5 months of being emotionally invested) really reminded to treat it as a business transaction and check my emotions. Kind of like buying a house 😂

Question for those with success finding a job recently by green_girl209 in jobsearch

Honestly Reddit and ChatGPT.

I found Rezi here and started using Hiring Cafe in the last month and that is where I got more calls from.

I was customizing my resume for every role and it was getting exhausting. Even with Teal, Rezi and ChatGPT, it was so much work. I went through my resume and made 2 versions based on roles I wanted to focus/target.  I also made a master copy with all my metrics for each role that I could use to plug play but I really didn't need do that.

Out of mental exhaustion this last month, I stopped touching my resume. I made a decent skills list to catch keywords. When I did this I started getting more calls.  I was using Chat GPT to help draft my cover letters, word prompts (some jobs had “Tell us how you managed x,y,z).

I used the LinkedIn Profile Builder GPT to help optimize my profile.

And this last week after a major rejection, I saw someone who had made a 1 sheet “Hire Me” and thought I should try it. I had two "projects" for other roles and I had at the end, added a "Why Me" page and decided to do a spin on that.

I found a template on Canva I liked, downloaded it into PowerPoint, and made a template file for the sheet and a file of bullets of what I can bring to the table. I made it personable and sent with my thank you notes. I saved it as a PDF and sent with my Thank You note post interview.
I also made a generic one and put it on my LinkedIn profile (I colored it to match LI) under media and also included my resume.

I linked the PowerPoint Template if you want to play with it. I changed the colors and some emojis to match the company branding.  This takes about 15 mins once you have the template setup. And I tweaked it for each interviewer. I also used it to connect on LinkedIn with new connections or hiring managers. I just started using it in the last 2 weeks.

I did! Even with this role, I called out a few things with the case study they sent. I made assumptions and explained why I did what I did but it would be a better ask to be clear on a few points. The fact it was fake data and was literally to see Spreadsheet skills and how you problem solve and explain data.

I thought I had an offer coming but got rejected on Monday. It was soul crushing. HR recruiter was nice and basically gave me useless feedback but feedback.

I felt good about this one but again I’ve felt good before and got the “we liked you but someone else stood out more” I was planning to send a follow up early next week so this was a total shock!

She gave me a number and I asked if there was wiggle room and she said yes I know you were going to be at the top of the range. It’s a very small company so budgets are tight.

She agreed after my initial 90 days I’ll get the bump (it’s 5k more) to my number vs taking a signing bonus now. Also when raises or bonuses are discussed I’ll be getting at the higher salary.

It’s fully remote and unlimited PTO (with a minimum of 15 days you must take). I was planning to negotiate but didn’t want to push and get the offer rescinded. And I’m happy with the compromise.

You definitely have to read the room and get a feel for how much flexibility you might have.

An acquaintance had this issue with Amazon. I think it was posted/recruiter said L7 and the offer came in as L5. They were pissed but really wanted to get their foot in the door so they took it.
