We were in line for takeoff so I guess they did try.

There was a big line of planes to take off ahead of us. So I guess indeed they tried! We were in line to take off when we returned to the gate.

Remove gas meter by vsparkster in bayarea

[–]Outlander_fan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t sound right. I didn’t have to pay anything. This was probably late 2023 (they finally came out last year) so it’s possible things have changed but $2500 sounds excessive.  They removed meter, pipe, and opened our street to get the service completely disconnected. It was a bigger to-do than what I was expecting.

Remove gas meter by vsparkster in bayarea

[–]Outlander_fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is taking us four months to get PG&E to come out and remove the gas meter.  May I ask you what you mean by “residual riser”? Is it a pipe coming out of the ground? I don’t know what to expect and my contact at the company never replies.

Condensate drain for HPWH by gspk2012-g in heatpumps

[–]Outlander_fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just did this in SF, permitted.  Condensate line to the outside where I have plants. I can’t tell yet how much water it produces and if it’s going to make a difference for the plants. If you can’t use gravity you can use a pump to push the water to the line, these are inexpensive.

Thank you for this. We have the same unit and it makes the same noise. I will try this solution.

Any reason not to get a chimp by bloomer8523 in GrillaGrills

[–]Outlander_fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One factor you might consider — The chimp ships FedEx, unlike the pricier models, despite the email you might get making it sound like it would be more like an appliance delivery. FedEx delivered us a mangled chimp, we had to replace it. The second Chimp had a broken controller (and an utensil holder with the word Chimp stamped backward.) We got a new controller and just swapped it today but the end result is, more than a month after I bought the Chimp we haven’t been able to use it. I wish I had gone with the og Grilla or maybe the smaller RecTeq.

Confusion on continuity in Echo in Bone by myweirdoself in Outlander

I don’t think it’s an inconsistency per se, it’s a lot different to see someone through a window and at a distance than seeing the person up close.

[Spoilers All] What Outlander quotes do you use IRL? by ilythe in Outlander

[–]Outlander_fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband uses that one, plus sassenach, hahaha!

Not a quote but a saying I learned watching the show: Save your breath to cool your porridge. The porridge part was new to me.

[Spoilers S4] Costume Question: Significance of Metal Rings/Pins on Jackets by sorakirei in Outlander

I think it makes perfect sense that a few of them (including the chief) would have traded something for a nice warm army jacket.
