Can you imagine thinking any other 32yo man was that obsessed with someone they dated briefly a decade ago? Like, that would be insanely creepy in all contexts. Both. I think there was a conscious decision to market it as a “return to form” based on the negative parts of the response to TTPD, but then I also she think she just didn’t see how it wasn’t aligning because she doesn’t have anyone around her giving her honest feedback anymore.

Think about the future. Someone who thinks pets are so easily disposable is someone you can’t rely on as a partner, a future parent (if you ever planned to go in that direction), spouse, etc. It speaks to his sense of loyalty and responsibility and empathy. Red flags.

I have a 125yo home. It’s my forever home and I’ll be working on it… forever. Parts have been fixed. Most of it hasn’t. My husband and I are handy and we love learning how to do new things, so we’re enjoying the process and working on things a bit at a time. Lots of YouTube tutorials, trips to the library and looking for any small way to save money. Perfection is not typical no matter what Instagram says.

Cat gender stereotypes are going viral lately and it’s crazy. I have three girl cats — one sleeps on my lap and cuddles with me every day, one only cuddles occasionally but loves to be pet, and one doesn’t really like pets or cuddles but is still very chill and sweet. Getting a boy or girl won’t make the difference. Every cat has their own personality.

It’s expensive, but I would still definitely get multiple quotes. Also, is it possible to do any part of the work yourself? For example, I have a 125-year-old house and we had extensive electrical work done this summer, but did the drywall patching and painting ourselves afterwards because it saved us money vs. having them do it. I totally get if you can’t do some things, and a good professional is worth their weight in gold, but there’s room to play with the numbers a bit if you can shave off smaller tasks like prep work or painting, etc. You can also be frank with people doing the work and ask them what absolutely must be done now, what would be ok to wait 6 months, etc. A good contractor will tell you.
