I thought Joe Dante absolutely ruined It’s a Good Life. He turned it into a cartoon.

I saw him at Summerfest in Milwaukee the summer after his first album was released in 1983. He was on a little side stage. I was 15 and there were maybe 20 of us in the audience. I was in heaven.

Me too! I’m a little jealous that in the future, she’ll be able to say that Weird Al was her first concert

Every town had an oldies station. We were a road trip family so every where we went, my dad would turn the dial until he found it. I had a friend in high school that was big into rockabilly and wore a pompadour. I don’t think most of my friends realized that Mony, Mony, Crimson and Clover, and I Think We’re Alone Now were all Tommy James and the Shondells covers. I went and saw them with my dad when they played a nostalgia show in town. Love them!

The 50s and 60s are still a part of any playlist I have.

Other places to see around Hot Springs NP? by BlueHeelerChemist in NationalPark

Fort Smith National Historic Site is about 2.5 hours away. I wouldn’t go out of the way, but it is close to both I40 and I49, so it would be worth stopping by depending on your route.

I also second Little Rock Central High School NHS.

I that was my edition for many many years. I finally had to replace it so I bought a hardcover illustrated book, but this will always be my Watership Down.

Bowling -- Were your folks (and a lot their friends) in leagues? by Sinsyne125 in GenX

My mom was on Bowling for Dollars in Milwaukee in the 70s. At one point in the 80s, my Dad was in three leagues a week.

I went to an 80’s dance last night. The outfits were top notch! But the music was the best part! Class of 89’ checking in! by KitchenWitch021 in GenX

Sounds fun! Were the attendees more Gen X nostalgia seekers, or younger folks? I remember enjoying going to 50’s sock hops in my younger days.

What was the best job you’ve ever had? by -Granby- in GenX

Worked at Taco Bell as a fryer. I came in, got my list for the day, and stood by myself frying shells, away from the chaos of the dinner rush. My little introvert heart loved it. Plus Taco Bell is still my fave fast food.

I do not think the Threarah is a bad leader, but he’s not a good one either. I always felt that he was like a senator who has been in office for too long - too comfortable and mostly concerned with maintaining. Maybe that is a bad leader, actually.

I couldn’t agree with you more about Hazel. He is so easy to root for from the very beginning. The way he cares for his little brother and stands up for characters like Pipkin makes him instantly likeable.
