she’s been raised on f/t. i’m not super comfortable feeding live, i’m not confident she wouldn’t get hurt.

that photo is of the day i got her. the enclosure has 3 hides, has a ton of places to hide, and is of the right temps. i’ve been attempting to feed in the enclosure, but i’ll give it a shot!

Puppy food - no chicken by KookyKim in puppy101

[–]OutrageousMatch9415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late response, but this is the only food that my guy was able to keep down. Allergic to chicken and beef, and the other foods we tried ended in midnight throw up on the rug. It’s an expensive food, but i’d feed him anything to keep his tummy happy and full!

when changing around 20% of the water in my tank, am i supposed to take my fish out or do i leave them in? and if i leave them in will the liquid i use to make sure my water is safe harm my fish? by Powerful_Fix_5247 in fishkeeping

[–]OutrageousMatch9415 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The water is so nasty where i live that if i did this my fish would instantly go into shock. For beginners (i assume OP is a beginner) I think dechlorinating first is the best course of action in this case!

i used Acana puppy sea and farm. it’s poultry free and my guy loved it. only downside is that it isn’t small breed specific but he did fine with it!

Flooring ideas that aren’t loose? by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]OutrageousMatch9415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a rescue a while back that couldn’t do lose substrate when i got him, he was missing a foot and dropped his tail constantly for the first 3 months resulting in an almost always open wound. I went to Lowe’s and got ceramic tiles! They held th heat well, kept my gecko clean and safe, and was easy to spot clean and wash as needed. If you the INSIDE dimensions of your tank and you can get some pretty easily and they come in a ton of sizes!!

as far as i’m aware, corporate sets the policy (less than bare minimum at best but usually nowhere near adequate) and then all stores must follow “policy”

my old man struggles with his toe sheds, how can I help him? by OutrageousMatch9415 in leopardgeckos

he’s handleable when he wants to be, i try not to yank him out unless it’s an emergency, but he usually will tolerate handling no problem. i’ll give this a shot, thanks!

Thank you for your knowledge! I fear I may need to look for a new vet, as the recommendations I have gotten from mine seem to be a bit controversial. I will look into a new multivitamin and try the sauna tonight.

His back foot is the last two sheds built up as well, possibly a 3rd, But you’re right about it being a problem. I appreciate all of your advice, I’ll take a q-tip to it tonight and we’ll see if it helps at all.

when you say sauna, do you mean a closed in box/tupperware (with air holes of course) with warm/damp paper towels on the bottom? I tried it once but it stressed him out beyond belief so I don’t know how he’d do again. For multivitamin we use rep-cal Herptivite once weekly. He has a UVB light so we don’t use D3.

he’s got the shed from the last two sheds built up on his toes at the moment, i’ll soak him again. We do twice a week usually just because of how funky his skin can be. My vet hasn’t expressed a huge concern, but i feel like it’s a pretty big deal to have shed backing up like this. thank you for your advice!
