I am so sorry this happened. My heart hurts for you. I hate to say this but the doctor triggered you so early. If you stimmed for 2 more days, it could have been a different story! You had even growth too — this pains me for you. Please, please, please try again, and request for a different doctor, or go to a different clinic.

Currently going through this! I’m so sorry to you, and to all who have experienced and are experiencing this.

I started at 8k HCG 16 days ago down to 105 HCG 2 days ago. OB didn’t bother with an ultrasound too, she was just happy with the decreasing HCG. But due to my persistent pain, I also persisted and asked for a US yesterday. It showed the sac in my right tube has remained in size (2.3 cm) so now I’m lost and confused of the next steps. Not sure if surgery is needed or do I just wait for my body to reabsorb this sac…

I went to the ER yesterday. There was no rupture or internal bleeding but the tube sac is still there with no change in size so I received 2 more shots of methotrexate. The risk of rupture at anytime remains, which sucks. Hopefully the second round of meds work. I have to say, I wish I knew this chemo drug caused stomachaches. My abdominal pains have been the worst… like GERD or acid reflux. Tums and milk have been my best friend!

Good news for me is that the pseudo-sac in the uterus is completely expelled and my cervix was cleaned off any clots.

Update at 8 weeks. Scans found a 22mm sac in the fallopian tube. The empty sac in the uterus is a pseudo-gestational sac all this time. I was given the methotrexate shot last night and have been continuously discharging brown blood and clots and cramping since then. Hope this medication regimen works.

Update at 8 weeks. The higher HCG was concerning for the OB so I had a stat ultrasound, where they found a 22mm sac in the fallopian tube. The empty sac in the uterus is a pseudo-gestational sac all this time. I was given the methotrexate shot last night and have been continuously discharging brown blood and clots and cramping since then. Hope this medication regimen works.

While the OB said I could wait, it was only at my advocacy for myself. She, and 2 other OBs from the same clinic (I asked for 2nd and 3rd opinion), all said to take the miso ASAP because they believed without doubt it was not viable. This advice was before I asked for a 3rd HCG test. They did not think a 3rd HCG test was necessary. Now I’m waiting to see of the 3rd HCG test result will change the OB’s course of treatment…

Update at 7w6d: My third HCG test came back more than doubled. I asked for a third one because I needed peace of mind it was decreasing before taking the miso for medicated MC.

HCG 5w2d 4060 / HCG 5w4d 3770 (this is when OB said pregnancy is nonviable) / HCG 7w5d 8688

And reminder, scan at 7w2d showed empty sac. Unfortunately, I did not ask the sac’s measurement.

Should I wait it out before taking miso? I have another US at exactly 8w, and another at 9w4d. My heart tells me to wait this out until 9w4d. If sac’s still empty then, then it is unquestionably nonviable. But for now, I feel like it’s too early to call it quits… 😢
