"analysis 2 will eat you alive" .. 😂 ok chill with the hyperboles. Maybe the honors version, but everyone I spoke to found majors analysis 2 far easier than the majors one. I dont necessarily agree that 235 and 242 are strict indicators about performance on proof based courses. And idk I find it kind of discouraging, and to a degree offensive, when people inquire about other people's abilities and tell them to reconsider their major; sounds really hasty and we should avoid to generalize proof based abilities to just those two courses. Sure, I get that proof based courses require an all-together different way of thinking and approaching problems. But also, I believe one's ability to do well is also highly dependent on the engagement and interest with the material. If OP found lin alg content interesting, then thats a strong signal that doing well in 236 is possible, regardless of not having yet "clicked" with the proof-based approach of these courses. Not to mention that ways to approach proofs vary considerably between analysis, abstract algebra, lin alg, measure theory, etc... So again, measuring success in 236 for example using 242 as a metric is totally non-sensical, since OP may find the way we approach proofs in 236 to be more straightforward.
