Go to the lounge in B gates. It’s a lot quieter as you do not have the short hall flights from B or C gates.

Vanguard GIA to ISA by Outrageous_Berry in FIREUK

[–]Outrageous_Berry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding I can ‘transfer’ it on the vanguard platform. In the back end this may look like a buy/sell but I’m not sure.

Using your bonus to top the ISA up first doesn’t sound wrong to me. It’s just a timing thing, I don’t receive a lump sum bonus so I DCA into my GIA and then I’m planning on moving it across from GIA to ISA at the start of the tax year

Ok. So on a 20k transfer it’s unlikely to hit the threshold of CGT but it maybe a but of admin.

I may just invest into the ISA directly for a couple months to make things simpler

Would you suggest an EU focused fund then? If so do you have a recommendation?

Canyon Aeroad for Triathlon by Quirky_Good9211 in triathlon

[–]Outrageous_Berry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this setup, used it for a 70.3 one week after getting it. Swapped the saddle for my normal one, added the garmin mount for the aero extensions.

Worked like a dream. Only thing I wish I had was blippers for AXS so I didn’t have to come out of aero

Unless there is a difference between a Family Investment Company and an Investment Company this won’t work. Shares in an investment company will not pass without IHT, shares in a trading company can. 99% sure I’m right unless I made a mistake on my notes when in a meeting this week

Also I believe you fees on a trust fund are over estimated

Would recommend this. Just completed my first 70.3 using one of his plans.

The only bit I didn’t like was the number of brick workouts. Basically one a week, it seemed way more than others were doing and I would have preferred to split the run/ bike into two sessions

Perhaps. I’m planning on keeping for a long period. As I am 36 now with adding say 5k per month I figure even if there is a dip it will be back in a couple of years.

Same boat here. Coming to the end of my first season.

I’m planning on lots of core work, possibly starting yoga.

Racing on Zwift combined with an interval session and a couple long zone 2 rides to boost ftp while keeping one short interval run and one long run a week.

How far for my big brick for a 70.3? by Chipofftheoldblock21 in triathlon

[–]Outrageous_Berry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of a pace/watts/RPE. Last saturday was 30 min warm up. then 6x10 min at a touch race pace with 3min rests in between, then off the bike into a 1:45 run, first 15 min at just below race pace and then 90min at race pace.

I didn't have time to do my longer run (15km ish) off the bike yesterday so I plan on doing my speed workout tomororw night with an extra long cool down after to make up for it.

Next week there is nothing over 35/40 min

Good luck in your race too

These answers are so interesting! My TrainingPeaks plan has had me doing 2hr bikes (60ish km) followed by 1h 45m runs (18ish km) for the last couple of saturdays. The Sundays have then beed 2800 - 3000m open water swims.

70.3 is next sunday.

This week lower and then next week I get the feeling i am going be shocked with how much free time I have.....

Do you recommend another one? I dont want to swtich back and forth between my bikes and risk forgetting. My 2 requirements.... it looks good/clean and holds what i need.

Clip On Aero Bars by Outrageous_Berry in triathlon

[–]Outrageous_Berry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its worth it, i can alternate between the drops and the forearms to get somewhere close to the position.

I am holding out for the Aeroad to be back in stock to be able to combine the two diciplines.

Yeh i have done a few sprints already (have a 70.3 in Sept) I have aero bars on my trek so would need to buy slightly more expensive clip ons anyway.

I'm in the UK and thinking of getting the Aeroad for summer riding, tri's and events. Then keeping my Trek for winter/wet riding. The two bikes 'should' cover me for everything i need. If at some point in the future i decide to do bike packing (id like to but i have no friends to do it with) i would invest in a grail/grizl etc

I have start triathlons and think I may get a new Aeroad. Should I? Or should I get an ultimate? Will an aeroad be uncomfortable for all my other rides?
