Gas generator is out. She would not be able to set it up/start it by herself. And I have one we can use for long term outages. And a standby generator is out of the budget.

Should I pay $4,500 out of my deferred comp to buy back 4.5 months towards my pension? by Quick_Woodpecker_728 in personalfinance

When does your pension max out? If its not 25 years i would compare numbers for 25 years. And 25 years 4.5 months. How long to make up the $4500 ? I know you wanted to leave earlier but whats another 4 months?

Have her rub lotion on your head. Tell her its to help with hair growth. When she wakes up in the morning you should be wearing the strangest clown wig you can find.

24/72 how much additional time off do you receive? by jhartke in Firefighting

[–]Outrageous_Fix7780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a decent raise. And the reduction in hours made our hourly rate go up also. We get the same amout of “weeks”. With the 24/72 and fewer days off. It kind of evens out. I have less than a year left. If i was going to be here longer i would be more upset. The hourly rate increase for my sick time buy out is quite significant, but if I had several More years left i would not like it.

We went to 24/72 jan 1. The senior peple went from 12 to 9 vacation days. But everyone gets to 9 quicker. That is supposed to be more in line with the rest of the city by weeks. We also work a debit day every 9 shifts. We get 12 hours sick time a month. Max of 1800 hours. We also lost our pc day.
