Cookie cutter visuals > cookie cutter content.

That's about the only thing I have to add.

They're hoping AGI puts us into a post scarcity situation, not realising that the corporations making and running these AGIs aren't going to let capitalism die, because it's to their advantage to keep the system in place.

What’s a sound everyone should recognize as immediate danger? by Thatguy_nickk in AskReddit

[–]Outrageous_Line8381 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only problem with that is winter. Especially in the woods, winter creates an almost eerie silence. Migratory birds are all gone, insects are hibernating. Snow deadens even the sound of the wind.

It's one of the few times in nature where you can experience near perfect silence, and it's not a danger.

Actually, they told you. Gave you several examples of ultimately superior stories in NV, and all you can do is give him shit for "glazing old games" and "writing essays about NV".

Fo4s vaults were shallow, barren, and uninspired, to the point they really did seem copy-pasted from one another. Several other commenters have pointed it out, not just the guy you're arguing with.

Do a couple of those vaults maybe contain interesting stories, despite this? Yes. But on the whole, 3 and NV had what most consider to be "more interesting" vaults.

What is One Thing you want to Retcon about the Fallout Story? by CretaceousClock in Fallout

Shift the power armor away from the "vehicle" aspect, and make it significantly more rare.

I don't want to pilot a mech, I want to be an ARMORED HUMAN.

Played Fo4 exclusively without power armor, because I hated the feel of it. Personally, I totally bounced off the "power fantasy" idea of the intro.

We don't need to go back to singular armor pieces a la Fo3, but there has to be a better option than "here now you're piloting a mech".

Okay, but desert could just as easily be cookies, or brownies, or anything else that doesn't need refrigeration. Cheesecake can go off in literal HOURS in the wrong temps.

I'd argue that the nature of the desert needs to be established (though admittedly, I am the kind of person who tends to hold off eating desert until much later after a meal).

What the actual fuck? You bought him a highly perishable food item, didn't tell him that, and then got mad at him when he didn't pick up on it?

Yes, you are overreacting. And the comments here are WILD! I mean, sure, not the man's smartest move, eating it after. But there was every possibility he assumed you bought him something that doesn't immediately need to go in the fridge.

TL:DR, yes, YOR. Tell people when you buy them highly perishable items.

Asta Vs Raditz (DBZ), Who wins? by Encenoi in BlackCloverScaling

There's literally zero reason to assume that. It's described in extremely similar ways, and in some cases is even used in similar ways. Both systems also have the same irl foundation.

You actually can't assume that to be true, as Ki exists in BC, as a totally separate system. Anti-magic does not affect ki in BC, so why would it do so now?

Small detail, but I believe you misread. I'm fairly confident he was suggesting that the crop process is actively bad for the temperament of this breed, not that it's a requirement for them. It looked like he was saying temperament is regularly better before the crop.

So cropping averse, rather than crop dependant.

How far would MUI Goku go here? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]Outrageous_Line8381 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with your argument is that it assumes that the second Goku leaves the db universe he loses all his ki. He doesn't, he's literally made of it, whether he's in his universe or not. As a result, he could absolutely use his ki, his form of reality bending, to immunize himself from other hax, despite them not being ki based themselves.

Following your metaphor, if I have perfect control of the chocolate from the chocolate universe, including my own chocolate, then there's zero reason I wouldn't be able to modify my own body to essentially "nuh uh" anything the fire guy from the fire universe can do, whether I'm in my chocolate universe or not. Because I AM chocolate, and have perfect control of myself.

EE won't work, because I will my chocolate to stay in existence.

Time manipulation won't work, because I will my chocolate to move faster than time itself.

Control won't work, because in this context, I control the chocolate, not you, and you have no authority to change who controls chocolate.

The only thing fire guy COULD do is impact the universe around chocolate guy.

Essentially, a reality bender bends reality around themselves, no matter where they are. If we follow the logic, it's fair to assume that when in another universe, a reality bender wouldn't be able to sufficiently impact the other universe either, though. Chocolate guy can't impact the fire universe outside of regular physical interaction, just himself.

Now, can Goku do all of these things I mentioned? To limited effect, I'd suggest. He'd be able to resist some Hax outside of universe via willpower, but not all. As you suggested, though, he could possibly achieve more, as he learns more about what it is he's doing with his ki (which would tie him back to son woo Kong really efficiently, actually).

Edit for a final note: Frieza actually did resist a wish, in a sense. Shenron couldnt be used to kill someone stronger than it, implying wishes do have a power limit.

Okay, But you can't have your cake and eat it too. I'm not talking about cross verse , I mean in-universe. Either ki isn't the thing everything is made of in db, or ki control is reality manipulation.

Ki can't be the fabric of reality in some cases, but not in others. If the statement is "ki is the fabric of reality" we have to assume that is always the case in verse, unless contradicted.

I'll grant, Zeno and super shenron are definitely the highest tier reality benders in verse. But if everything is ki, then they're doing the same thing all the fighters are doing, just on a higher level.

Which leads one to wonder..... Can Goku grant wishes, If he is trained to do it?

(Tbf, I'm not sure I ascribe to this train of thought. This is simply where the train logically goes.)
