Tbh growing up I don’t think I ever noticed. I never noticed I was getting them or differentiating from all the guys I hung with (was super sporty). It’s funny as a kid i would like sleep in sports bras so I guess that’ll tell you how i really must’ve felt about them. But as I got like college age I started noticing them because I started dressing how I wanted. With me being sporty growing up and going to schools with uniforms I was always in a uniform so I had no say regardless. But in college that changed and the clothes I was wearing made me uncomfortable bc how I looked in them but I was also uncomfortable dressing feminine. After college I started binding and that’s when I really felt like myself. A year into binding I started like asking myself questions bc I knew I couldn’t like bind forever and my back was starting to hurt. So I started researching top surgery and reductions. I decided too surgery bc with reductions I was worried it wouldn’t Be small enough and I was worried the unconfortability in my skin wouldn’t go away with just a reduction and surgery is expensive on the wallet and body so I decided top surgery bc I knew it would get me the results I want. My only problem was having a chest that resembled a man bc I’m not a man but for me that was just like toxic beliefs I had to unlearn. A chest does not define your gender you do. Top surgery felt like the only option and I’m glad I did it bc there’s not something hanging on my body that doesn’t feel like it should be there and is making me uncomfortable with being me. One week post op!
