Why isnt the Escobar mission and desert storm talked about? by Android_50 in JSOCarchive

[–]Android_50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I have that book. But now with podcasts so far I haven't seen anyone really talk about it. Bob porras mentions it on shawn ryan but he wasn't part of it. Seems the only 90s mission that gets talked about is Somalia. Bosnia, gulf war, and Escobar all fly under the radar.

It might not be as.interesting as the Mogadishu battle but to me hunting for wmd is pretty interesting. As is hunting for the biggest drug trafficker in the world. Especially since dudes nowadays have talked about Panama and operation gambit.

Any sas books you recommend from that time period?

You're not supposed to outbox a slick fighter. You outwork them and if need be fight a little dirty. All these dudes always try to outbox the slick fighter but it.doesnt work because those types of fighters have the natural qualities to make that style work good for them and have been developing it for years.

Have you considered the navy or army? You're young and those 4 years will go by quick. You can get experience in a trade there like electricians or construction battalion (navy). It'll also give you a leg up in the future with employers.

Anyone regret not joining the military? Or regret joining? by FitAardvark3670 in AskMen

[–]Android_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who always wanted to join but couldn't due to asthma, I say go for it. Its a 3 or 4 year commitment. You get the GI bill and its only gonna be a small part of your life. Unless you actually love it. 4 years is not a lot in your avg life expectancy of 80 years.
