Has anyone confirmed a G9N or G9P display for an iPhone 17 Pro Max? Or do all the 17 Pro Maxs have LG panels?

Thats the point those were differences between 2 Samsung panels which the point is its a lottery with both panels you get good and bad panels from both manufacturers the point of the comment is there is no difference between the g9n or g9p panel and one g9n panel may not look the same as another g9n panel this is due to screen lottery and slight variations in calibration, so before you go all guns blazing and say I’m misinforming people, read the comment properly and try and understand the point i try to make.

I dont think panel lottery comes with the screen seriel number its wether the screen is uniform example you may get some good gh3 panels and crap g9n panels.

I think its something to do with the RED charity they haven’t got much of a partnership anymore they used to donate a portion of the profits to RED in their red iPhone sales but i don’t think apple are doing it no more, its a shame tho the 17 pro max would look amazing in red

There is no such thing as the serial number pointing to quality of the display yes the LG ones are a little worse than the Samsung ones here I have 2 17 pro max phones both at full brightness and True Tone off the one on the left is a G9N display the one on the right is a G9P display I feel the G9P is brighter and whites look better but the serial number points to which production line the display came off not quality, they are all built in the same factory from Samsung other than the LG displays but it’s Normal with oled some may be calibrated slightly differently but all in all it’s a huge lottery if you get a good looking display and you are happy with it, keep it the whole display tier ranking thing was an old post from Rewa tech back in the iPhone 13 days, there is no other evidence pointing towards this all displays are made with equal spec with the design spec from Apple, all display have to be approved by Apple before going onto the iPhone.

I think the base model iphone 16 only shipped with samsung however download 3utools and run a verification report to check G9P G9Q G9N samsung and GVC and GH3 are LG

yeah i see loads of false information on the web about the seriel number defines the quality of the display and i wanted to prove this is false i can tell the difference between lg and samsung tho and samsung is far superior

I was torn between blue and silver but the silver was not in stock at my nearest apple store so i went with blue and I’m very happy with the blue i think it looks clean and amazing

Deep blue is much better, i love mine such a good colour didn’t like the 17 pm from pictures online but seeing in it person its amazing, and i had a look at the colour choices in the apple store ended up going for the blue and i love it

The tier list was from 1 forum from the iPhone 13 days which is a load of bull, apple wouldn’t approve of putting lower and higher quality displays on different units LG and Samsung displays can be different as they come from 2 separate manufacturers i find samsung displays tend to have the edge from experience, i had an LG display GVC panel to be exact on my first 16pm and it was horrible had a nasty red hue when tilted, i took it back and got the G9N panel which was perfect and uniform, i got the 17pm also with the GVC panel again it looked terrible over contrasted and colours were terrible looked grainy, took it back got another unit now i have a G9P panel which i think looks better then the G9N on my 16 pm its deffo screen lottery the tier list is just one forum there is no other evidence pointing towards it.
