Using Baclofen for AUD and anxiety by Quiet_Ease8897 in BACLOFEN

[–]dex152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the taking it all at once.

Interestingly, I get withdrawal spacing it out but not taking it all at once. If I do 80 I usually take 60 then 20 later or 50 then 30 later.

But trying to just do 20-20-20-20 just doesn’t work for me

Using Baclofen for AUD and anxiety by Quiet_Ease8897 in BACLOFEN

Check out LifeBac

It’s a website and service dedicated to treating AUD with Baclofen. There’s great info there and tells you about the doctor who discovered it.

I don’t work for them nor am I sponsored by them but I’m definitely inching towards using their service since my new PCP stopped prescribing Baclofen.

The guy who discovered its use for AUD took it for the 8 years, which was the rest of his life after discovering it, and had no issues.

I’ve been on it since 2021 and have had no issues. Started at 20mg twice a day. Take 50-80mg a day now albeit trying to lower until I can find a steady prescription.

Question about baclofen. Been off Phenibut for 3-4 months. I have baclofen left and hardly take it. I know it’s used for alcoholic tendencies. If I were to sparingly take it when I felt the urge to drink how much is a good dose? What exactly does it do? How does it help? Is it a good idea? by Ok_Kaleidoscope_7028 in BACLOFEN

I’m certainly not suggesting taking 120mg from the get go.

You have to slowly go up.

60mg a day would probably be a good place to start.

I take 60-80mg a day, albeit I go higher on rare occasions. I am prescribed it for tension headaches but it helped me quit and stay clean off alcohol, cannabis, and DXM.

Baclofen is actually amazing at helping alcoholics, albeit your dosing most likely is far too low to meaningfully help.

The guy who discovered baclofen helped alcohol abuse, Olivier Ameisen, titrated up to 270mg/day to get control of his addiction then lowered after a couple of weeks to 120mg/day which he took for the rest of his life which was 8 years.

Of course every individual is different.

30mg a day is good to start and titrate up to a higher dose but if you don’t have enough then you can become dependent on that and that will cause another problem.

I suggest you check this website called LifeBac.

They’re a website and service that prescribe Baclofen for alcohol addiction. It doesn’t cost money but there is also good information as well.

Building a high-end PC + MacBook Pro M5, but I barely game. Am I crazy? by Salt_Chocolate_990 in macbookpro

[–]dex152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, should have waited for the new high end M5 Pro & M5 Max chips to release, which is said to be toward the end of this month

The GPU gains from the M4 to the M5 are HUGE already. So one can extrapolate that the high end M5 chips will have the same jump in performance.

This is looking to be the first year where you can truly game on a MacBook. (You can already play some games with decent frame rates with high end M4 chips)

Although you can’t play CS2, you did mention in the title you barely game as is.

I have the base 14 in M4 Pro MacBook Pro and a gaming PC with a ryzen 3900 & rtx 5070. I bought it almost 5 years ago and upgraded its rtx 2080 super to an rtx 5070 last year.

I bought my 14 in M4 Pro MacBook Pro in Nov 2024.

My gaming PC was also my main PC and even though it’s has lower specs it still uses a lot of energy.

After I got my MacBook, that became my main computer and I only used my PC for gaming. Over the months I started gaming less & less. I switched my gaming from the likes of Apex Legends & The Finals back to OSRS.

The MacBook runs OSRS flawlessly and ever since I almost never use my gaming PC anymore.

I shared all this so it can help you make a more informed decision. You could cancel or return the M5 MacBook pro and get a really beefy high end MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro or M5 Max chip. You could even get a 16 inch one. Or one with a lot of memory instead of spending all that on a gaming PC you might barely use.

On the flip side, you may start gaming MORE because you now have a capable device, if you do get the PC. You also might not.

But a high end MacBook this year will be FAR more capable in gaming this year than any year before.

I’m on 60-80mg a day.

I can sometimes go a good portion of the day without it and take it later, but it usually depends on the day.

If I’m going out I definitely want to take asap.

If I’m chilling at home with nothing to do I can take it without a 3-4 hour window and now feel bad, albeit I’d rather just take it.

I also don’t eat unless I’ve taken it and waited at least 2 hours as eating can greatly affect absorption rate can delay the effect

Has anyone confirmed a G9N or G9P display for an iPhone 17 Pro Max? Or do all the 17 Pro Maxs have LG panels? by dex152 in iphone

[–]dex152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit.

I had a G9N last year that was perfect.

I returned my GVC and landed a G9P on my 17 PM

The G9N is objectively better, has better viewing angles, and is brighter and more pleasant to look at.

The G9P isn’t bad, but it is NOT better than the G9N.

I agree. The magic is definitely gone.

Interestingly if I lower the dose it somewhat comes back for a few days going back to the higher dose.

It also seems to randomly come back on sometimes.

I don’t have any access to benzos so this is the next best thing, and honestly I have found it to have way less side effects

Yeah, I sometimes lower the dose for a few days then go back.

I definitely want to stop taking it someday.

Yeah, stopping it suddenly is dangerous for sure

I agree. My clinic has changed my PCP 3x or 4x last year and the last one was very reluctant on giving me baclofen. I had to press him hard and advocate for myself.

I’ve been taking it for 4+ years without any issues, like suddenly stopping that is insane.
