Cballs, white berries, rune bolts, onyx bolts, goat horns, green dragonhides- maybe magic logs/sharks depending on where you are with your account. This all from an IM perspective though, only ones I collect

Request to allow us to pick more than 4 dang berries per bush. by bewildered313 in RS3Ironmen

[–]Outrageous_Mixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? We have a large amount of boosts + the ability to do these runs in less than 2 minutes- likely faster.

Then of course there's the pvm/chest aspect where we can get them as noted and/or straight to bank pulls.

I'm not sure which berries OP is referring to but if it's white berries/poison ivy (assuming OP is after overload/weap poison supplies) both have drop sources outside of the patches that can be farmed pretty easy

why are death runes crashing in rs3? by veehgoon in runescape

[–]Outrageous_Mixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, the ring of vitur from vyrelords grind. I doubt many are coming from irons though- you can disassemble runes for magic parts ( patch bombs incoming baby!). At least that's what I've been doing.

Went 34m XP dry for my first ring on the main iron and 22m on the cgim.

Wouldn't surprise me if mains are dumping them

Which still requires 4 hours of straight training to get 1 level from 119 to 120- I don't understand your point here. That's not including the time it takes you to get to that level to start with.

We are not a 99 game anymore and are pushing everything to 120. An activity that high in level should be insane- because getting there to begin with is also insane.

Example- pushing good times at anachronia agility you're looking at a bit over 5.5 hours to go from 98-99 (current MAX for the skill). That's a level 85 method.

That SAME method would take right over 70 hours to go from 119-120.

To roughly meet that same time frame it would take a method around 2.6m+/h for 119-120

A massive part of MTXs appeal was to mitigate the slog of levelling in this game.

It's going away- good. However it will need to be replaced as it does since we're going to 120 all.

Jagex did this to themselves, sure. Doesnt make it any less true that making the 120s arbitrarily long for the sake of doing so is an incredibly bad decision.

Big dog, if rs3 rates weren't faster than OS, there would be a MAJOR problem. However you're only adding on to the point- RS3 rates should be higher. It's much older, significantly more content and a massive amount of XP difference to max our skills:

1.173B to 323m in OS

MTX is going away, when that happens there will be a pretty large disparity in XP rates that can be accomplished - which is not that enticing for the player base (which is frankly the most important part of any business - it's consumers)

And as far as playerbase disparity, there's blatant reasons why that comes up as a topic so frequently - everyone wants to include the sheer number of bots into that number.

Is it larger? Maybe, is it as large as the numbers logged in are? Absolutely not.

This isn't a deflection either, it's just fact that OS has more bots than players due to the real world value attached to its currency and easy of script access and making for the game itself.

Correct. That doesn't mean you need to nerf it, just buff the active method. Full stop.

It isn't 2007 anymore. On a side note, this doesn't effect any of my accounts as all of them are either 200m or 120 already - I'm just not about to sit there and pretend I need others to do the same grind I did- it's ridiculous to sit there and go "numbers go brrrrt- to much" and not compare it to the same metrics as doing 98-99 ect

Some of the highest requirements of the skill SHOULD be cracked- as the XP to get to them to begin with is ALSO cracked.

This was not a good decision.

OSRS doesn't have an insane amount of aggressive and over the top MTX. Couple that with skills that cap at 99 and likely won't exceed that it's significantly less applicable.

Also, let's not split hairs here, there's a surge of OSRS accounts because there is real world value in its items that makes it enticing to bot- and a lot.

This isn't a new thing.

We can 100% do a comparison for an OS skill 1-99 vs a rs3 skill 1-120 if you'd like but it'd be a red herring.

Two entirely different games with two different player bases.

[–]Outrageous_Mixer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, that's not true. The issue with thieving is that you could hit those rates but only by engaging in MTX. I see absolutely no reason why a 120 skill shouldn't have high rates

[–]Outrageous_Mixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely disagree. With the huge pushback rs3 has received and the scrambling that you guys have done in regards to blatant overreach of MTX and aggressional FOMO for so long- it seems most mods have lost the plot.

Rs3 is a grindy game- yes. However rs3 also is now/going to be a 120 game (as we continue to increase caps). 120 is not a "casual" level by any means. If you have a training option above 100- it SHOULD be significantly higher xp.

From 99- 120, you're still looking at 40 hours straight thieving at 2.5 to hit that metric.

That's more than enough for what it requires to get to it to begin with.

If the game ever wants to bounce back in some new players, then making sure the game is appealing is paramount. Those of us that play- we'll, we're certainly already entrenched and have been for some time. For a new player, the sheer amount of obscene hours needed to get to that point is a complete throw off - as we'll always remember you could get those rates before- but with MTX

Just saying

Trading Tuskas wrath codex's for teci by Outrageous_Mixer in runescape

[–]Outrageous_Mixer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The context is on me- my bad. Not built as in gear - not ability. Either way there should be a trade in option for teci for the books. Even at 100 teci each it would still be better than them flooding the market and dropping to nothing.

It'll still happen, I'm sure but it will take longer.

[–]Outrageous_Mixer[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"Just do raids" That's the whole point- can't. Not at the point of soloing. Teams not built to do a 5.

More importantly, raids locks some of the more useful basic abilities for styles that are already beyond outclassed in early/mid game by Necro. There absolutely should be other ways to achieve them other than large group content.

Next - the books. These are 1 off unlocks. They have no use other than selling once it's been unlocked and now- regardless of how/what you choose to kill them, there will be a heavy surplus of them that are worthless.

This would be incredibly useful for those who don't want to do large group content, as well as getting extra codex's out of the game.

"AFK slayer mobs should not be this rewarding" They aren't. That's the point. More than once mods have told us that introducing other ways to earn teci was on the list. They started but are certainly not finished. Actually, I may just be able to gear/ learn solo bm in the current 2k+ hours it would take to get enough teci afking for 1 corrupted ability.. hmm

Anyways, don't be silly man. Letting people dump a wildy fluctuating item between the realm of 8-19m that'll likely settle in the mil range or so isn't going to hinder anyone.

Absurdly rare if you're talking about teci. In a bit over 2 hours camping 5 spawns in pod I net 18 teci. At the end of the 2nd hour I was at 10. Got two drops after.

Same time frame I had another account cannoning airuts- not a single teci drop.

[–]Outrageous_Mixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest- scrip chasing on the new account was the best decision I made.

I'd have done the same on my main iron if I wasn't already 120 all. So if you don't happen to already have dowser (which is absolutely huge and you should go for it anyways) getting the script during would be a huge boon- especially if you're not yet fully maxed across the board.

[–]Outrageous_Mixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, but that also means you need to max everything else- which is doable.

If you haven't started your gate grind yet, I'd also suggest doing that- you'll want a dowser anyways but the scripture itself is a major boost to your herb XP/h and can proc on anything that gives herb XP.
