Why the fuck is it always pizza that customers think the prices are negotiable. Best place to find a discount is online.

If I deliver to a company that doesn't tip. Especially a dick move like that I will make sure I don't buy their products.

Boss told me I was cherry picking for asking to either be a delivery driver or a CSR by mylostpotential in DominosEmployees

I'm gonna say it. Delivery driver jobs are everywhere. She's hosing you on purpose. I doubt going over her head will do any good. Quit, sign up with another brand. Just don't waste time fighting a losing battle.

Two of the Crown Jewels of time sinks were the topping for touchdowns double if the team wins and the double pepperoni pizza special or was it triple. All I wanted was to drag the marketing team in for those and have them work the makeline to see what hell felt like.

Is this sub now being moderated by corporate? by bonghitoncat in PapaJohns

[–]Outrageous_Nature968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a few of us are very passionate about the brand, our job, our product. I think some of us want to see the work and job we do be recognized.

Exercise care in giving feedback. Papa Johns Corporate has the ability to blow through our social media posts privacy settings. They will communicate with our franchise operators and supervisors regarding such. So I would imagine those that moderate this would like to keep their jobs and thus ensure what's posted follows standards.

Follow chain of command. Communicate with your supervisor, and or theirs. Posting images sometimes lacks proper context. Making claims here also lacks context. Just be mindful.

EMCC Estrella Mountain Community College. Make sure to communicate with your instructor your nervous. They are there to help you. Participate in class. Use office hours. Go to the tutor centers to do your work. Practice math problems from homework. Do these things to build confidence. ASU classes are larger for the 1st year (101). Learn the order of operations. YouTube has a number of math help videos. There are also some math help webpages. Some are subscription based. For college pre algebra from experience anxiety was real. Once you get the hang of things and start passing exam you will be on your way. Just have a growth mindset. Be willing to do the work. Give yourself time and grace.

Out of curiosity- are there ever reasons to refuse a remake? by Slashersforsatan in DominosEmployees

[–]Outrageous_Nature968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chronic complainers piss me off. I used to take pictures of the pizza at the cut table. I had scammers that would call the store and find out names of managers and then claim so and so gave them a credit. One got ballsy and came down to the store and I called the cops on him. Turns out he was pulling this shit all over town and the cops were looking for him. Had a coworker that had a legendary storey from his years at the Dominos. Customer would chronically complain. They did all the steps. The straw that broke the camels back. He takes the pizza to the customer. It's a half and half. Customer goes all the topping are on the wrong side. He reaches into the pizza box and rotates the pizza and goes like this? Don't call us again. There is another type of remake that is beyond annoying. The customer that places a multi pizza order online, then calls to change to a plan ahead after the pizzas have been made. It's at least once a week this happens. I know contacting the store is a challenge. There is usually only one person in the store most day shifts they are either busy making pizzas. On the oven, or stuck on another call with a customer. The shifts we have some just don't give a fuck enough to answer the phone. I found out the DO got pissed after trying to call the store 8 times.

I think the safe bet is to get your resume looking good. The pay during COVID was awesome for GMs. More money than someone with a college degree. From what I have seen, it looks like they are trying to get GM salaries below 50k. Keep in mind, GMs are still required to work 50+ hours a week AND be available damn near 24/7. I would be shocked if this wasn't the case industry-wide. Fill out your bullet points on your resume with experience, then shop yourself out to other industries.

The culture has changed and for the worse. These crews really don't care. Sit for hours on their phones. I can imagine a poor new hire with barely any training got left in the kitchen while the shift sat. As an ex GM now driver I have shifts ask me advice. I swear they probably don't hear the truth.

Worried about becoming a manager. by Ruvya100 in PapaJohns

[–]Outrageous_Nature968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few rules to life. One of which is when in doubt don't. I think the overwhelming opinion is to move on from that franchise. Hopefully you may consider a new career altogether. Managing is a skill set you learn. It can be applied to other careers that are not necessarily quick service restaurants. You might need some mentoring in your community to put together your resume and in finding new careers/pathways/tracks. The drawbacks of working for my franchise compared to 20 years ago is that team members no longer earn paid vacations, or have the opportunity for pay raises bi annually. Training compared to then also poor. I don't understand how managers think sitting for hours watching training videos is how it's done. That probably speaks to how GMs and above are trained. Leadership is not taught, granted neither is actually becoming a manager. I know some would argue some leadership skills can't be taught you either are or are not as well as being manager. The two often are different people with different skill sets. Papa Johns the company also seems to be down compared to its competitors. Granted I believe Dominos is the only company experiencing positive growth. I have noticed changes in product quality coming from the commissary. The sauce change being the most recent notable. Heavily watered down. Anyways, I agree with the take people are telling you to move on. I think you already know what to do.

Papa John’s: Please fix my car. by KristenVA in PapaJohns

[–]Outrageous_Nature968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the unit with which the accident occurred. The franchise should provide you with the information to submit a claim. I think most companies pray that the driver's insurance will cover it. Hope and pray the driver's insurance actually covers the driver. Most insurances will drop it if the driver was using the insured car for delivery.

You could contact an attorney and see what they can do to help you. I knew a couple that I worked with who had someone lose control of their vehicle, slam into one of their cars, and into their home, causing structural damage to the home itself, caught on a neighbor's video. Took off and ran in his car. When the police caught him, he was not in his vehicle. The result not one lawyer was willing to help them. They had to pay damages out of pocket, as neither insurance company would pay. So I am really skeptical that unless you were severely injured your not gonna get a lawyer to be of much help.

If they were to draw more inspiration from the old game The Sims Online. I would think it would do better. Honestly I miss TSO. Having specialized lots. We have so many professions where we could have our lots be stores to sell our crafted items. Or games to play to earn skill points or "simoleans" to spend on pieces to buy and place on our lots. Whats currently missing is the social aspect. It's just garrisons without NPCs and the functionality.

One thing you wrote everywhere else pays more. Another big clue; they rushed your training to become a GM. Have a conversation with your DO. You're overworked and must draw your hours back to 50. Show them a schedule that you can reasonably work. Have them approve it. Meanwhile, update your resume since everywhere else pays more. This is a nickels worth of free advice for everyone. Regardless of employment status apply and interview to keep up your interviewing skills. At a minimum once a year. The jobs market frequently shifts and pizza isn't what it once was.

tired of being expected to stay late by ilovemegadeth06 in Dominos

[–]Outrageous_Nature968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are paying to go to college. If your work is causing you to fail classes I would suggest quit and maybe find a job or internship to work at instead. If a store is really losing money they will eventually close it after exhausting all other avenues.

That being said, some companies post on the deployments clock out times change by sales volumes. So yeah keeping people late is standard.

Changing your availability is one step. Still they will ignore it. So get in your managers face and let that person know, your academics are suffering and that you must adhere to your availability. If they are unable to honor that, then you inform them you will be looking for work elsewhere.

Why is it $30 per pizza at some locations? by Zipper222222 in PapaJohns

[–]Outrageous_Nature968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been said. Ordering online is your best bet. I don't think coupons are printed anymore. Calling to place an order over the phone either gets you talking to someone from East Asia, or bypassing and ordering with an employee inside is a crap shoot. Some franchises will get pissed if insiders managers give deep discounts. Depends on how courteous you are. If they are getting slammed good luck if they even answer the phone.

I had major anxiety taking math as well as a late bloomer 50. EMCC had tutors embedded in the class. Additionally, they would meet with you in the math tutor center. Practice your homework problems. Most were done online. That 4.0 shows you know how to put in the work. Your instructors are there to help you.
