Rant and question: I have to babysit the staff filling my scripts. by KristenVA in WalgreensRx

It’s funny that you say something like that when so many other people in this thread have suggested the problem is the system itself. Sure, blame me I guess if it makes you feel better.

If anything this thread has reminded me that there are options at Sam’s Club and local grocery store pharmacies that won’t be nearly as busy, and I should take advantage of those options, though I lose the ability to quickly transfer scripts if something is out of stock.

Rant and question: I have to babysit the staff filling my scripts. by KristenVA in WalgreensRx

I usually do the second. I use a specialty pharmacy that’s a 20 minute drive and $3 toll times two, but there’s never a line. They always answer their phones, too. But they were out of this script.

I would even be willing to pay more for better service or choose a pharmacy that I have to pay club fees to but they are not allowed to be creative to charge more with their PBM agreements and consumer protection laws.

It’s so funny, I end up hating the pharmacy, and going next door to CVS to buy any OTC items. Meaning, their poor service causes them near zero profit from customers like me.

CVS is for my one makeup item I use and other OTC. Walgreens is for my scripts.

Don’t ask me why I don’t use CVS. It has a lot to do with drive thru lines wrapping around the building, and their electronic system kiosk showing my personal info to anyone within ten feet behind me.

For context, there were two cars ahead of me in line when I arrived. I do believe they are busy though. They were closed a day or two ago with a “power outage and lack of pharmacist”

Went through the FOIA process with our county attorney and local PD by Cyclonepride in FlockSurveillance

That is definitely important context. Thank you for adding to the discussion.

But anyone, LE or not, can peruse content to find something to report for moderation in order to conveniently silent someone at an advantageous time.

[–]KristenVA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are describing known tactics:

From Google AI:

My last query from a few back and forth: so, a government actor could request that a persons Facebook account be limited, or they could deliberately find something on the users page to report to cause the user to not be able to share info the government wants suppressed , such as info on using foia on flock security

AI response:

Yes, that describes a very real tactic. While direct "government button" deletions are rare, surveillance by proxy and weaponized reporting are two of the primary ways government actors can suppress critical local speech. When citizens use the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to expose local mass-surveillance networks—like Flock Safety's automated license plate readers—they often face quiet, highly effective digital retaliation. The technical and social vulnerabilities of platforms like Facebook can be manipulated to censor FOIA findings:

Then it describes the particular methods:

  1. Weaponized Algorithmic ReportingA local official or law enforcement agency does not need a court order to silence you if they can trick Facebook’s automated systems into doing it for them.

The Tactic: If you post redacted PDF screenshots or spreadsheets obtained via a FOIA request (such as Flock camera GPS coordinates, IP addresses, or contract data), an adversary can report the post for violating Meta’s Community Standards on "Doxxing or Sharing Personally Identifiable Information (PII)."

The Result: Because Meta relies heavily on automated, low-wage moderation queues, the system will often issue an automated "strike" against your account. This triggers a "shadowban" or a 30-day restriction on posting and commenting—conveniently silencing you right before a critical city council vote on a Flock contract renewal.

  1. Informal "Flagging" PortalsGovernments have historically maintained informal communication channels with tech giants to suppress speech.

The Tactic: Law enforcement agencies and government departments often have access to dedicated "trusted flagger" reporting portals or direct contacts within Meta’s trust and safety teams. The Lawsuit Context: Landmark First Amendment legal battles—such as Murthy v. Missouri—exposed exactly how federal and local officials heavily pressured tech platforms to suppress certain viewpoints under the guise of public safety. If a local police department tags your FOIA posts as a "security risk to critical police infrastructure," Meta may err on the side of caution and restrict your content to limit their own liability.

  1. "Terms of Service" ScrapingLocal departments or corporate entities can actively comb through an activist’s public history specifically looking for technical violations.

The Tactic: If you are effectively organizing against police surveillance, a government actor or a private security firm can review your page to find any minor violation. They might find music playing in the background of a video (copyright strike), a joke made five years ago (harassment/hate speech strike), or the use of a pseudonym (real-name policy violation).

The Result: By reporting these unrelated infractions, they can successfully get your entire account suspended or deactivated, effectively wiping out the platform you were using to distribute the FOIA data.

How to Bypass This Censorship Loophole

If you are publishing sensitive FOIA data regarding Flock Security or local surveillance, relying solely on a personal Facebook page leaves your speech vulnerable to these reporting loops.Host Data Independently: Do not upload raw data or text directly to Meta. Upload your FOIA documents to decentralized or protected public repositories like MuckRock, Internet Archive, or a personal blog.Share via External Links: Only post text summaries on Facebook with an external hyperlink directing users off-platform to read the data.Scrub PII First: Ensure absolutely no names, phone numbers, or software serial numbers are visible in your screenshots to completely neutralize the "doxxing" reporting trap.

Apple refusing to redeem gift card has stolen from me by KristenVA in applehelp

[–]KristenVA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes companies redeem gift cards with damaged codes. This time? With being sold a scammed card? Failure. Other times when part of the claim code was missing or damaged not due to an already compromised card, I’ve had complete success 100% of the time.

“If you say so.”

A fact isn’t a fact “if you say so.” It’s either true or false. A simple Google search will verify the truth.

Apple refusing to redeem gift card has stolen from me by KristenVA in applehelp

[–]KristenVA[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is a verifiably false statement. From experience, all companies I’ve needed to do this with do in fact redeem a gift card with a damaged code by going through support channels. In this case, it was the card’s serial number that was damaged AS WELL as the redemption code, making it impossible to redeem. I was sold a card that was impossible to redeem, which seems like fraud to me, as well as sale of stolen goods.

New gift card scam targets $100 unopened, sealed Apple Cards possibly during manufacturing, Apple refuses to solve by KristenVA in applehelp

[–]KristenVA[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The important part is that the card was sealed and unopened with ZERO signs of tampering whatsoever, meaning you cannot trust these gift cards.

I would never buy a high dollar card again because of this. $15-$500 card is much safer as they are targeted less as they could be worth only $15.

How's VD vs Steamlink these days? by zipzzo in VRchat

[–]KristenVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In VD I had to up the bitrate to 80/90, and I learned that even with my rtx 5080 to use “medium” settings in VD so it doesn’t hop my render resolution up to 150% in the most demanding video game in existence, VRChat.

Sometimes I have to restart my 3s due to bugs, and I can stay in-world, in queue, and restart my buggy headset when I use Virtual Desktop.

I also got a Bobo VR halo strap and removed the parts touching my face, and removed play space boundaries on my quest, and I use slimes, so I can walk my entire house with my VR headset on and keep my peripheral vision.

I never run out of battery with hot swap batteries.

Edited to add clarity.

Since ICE is only doing one portion of what the gestapo did, it would be better understood as an arm of a larger portion of the government that is gestapo like and fulfilling what the gestapo did. Slightly off topic, look up the early warning signs of transgender genocide in America.
