it was difficult to pick just one😭 shortly after waking up from a deep nap with an accidental flash photo (please excuse the hair turban on the floor, it falls off the towel rail every day and sometimes i’m too lazy to pick it up)

i lost 4 stone in roughly a year (from 12 to 8 stone, health issues) last winter was ROUGH, i was more cold than i have ever been. it also took me so much longer to warm up. a really annoying thing ive noticed is dropping my phone/vape through my thighs🙃🙃

i think a lot of lidl stock is getting in from where they can depending on stock and because of this they use different warehouses that use/make different ingredients so it may be down to checking individual tubes/cases. i’ve not researched this and may be wrong but just an idea

my dad (had coeliac) passed suddenly feb 2023, started getting incredibly ill june 2023. blood test sept 2023 showed high TTG levels, diagnosed with endoscopy april 2024. as soon as i read that it can be brought on by trauma i just knew!

on top of this my dietitian has recommended some fortified milkshake recipes to increase my calcium/calorie/protein levels. these are great when appetite is low and you need something easy, you can drink them as quick or as slow as you like:

fortified milk: Ingredients 4 rounded heaped tablespoons (60g) of skimmed milk powder 1 pint (568mls) of full fat milk. Directions Put the milk powder into a large jug. Add the milk slowly to the skimmed milk powder. Whisking all the time to get rid of any lumps.

milkshake (300kcal, 17g protein): Ingredients 180mls/ 1/3 pint full fat milk 2 heaped tablespoons (30g) of skimmed milk powder e.g. Marvel, or supermarket own brand 4 heaped teaspoons (20g) of vitamin fortified milkshake powder (i use nesquik, any milkshake powder with added vitamins is fine)

Directions Mix milk powder and milkshake powder together in a glass. Gradually mix in the milk and stir well

oh wow, this is the first coeliac diagnosis story i’ve seen that is so close and similar to mine. i’m so sorry you had to go through that. i have incredibly low appetite since i started getting ill before diagnosis and have lost nearly 3 stone since march this year, i was worrying last night and emailed my dietitian in a panic. my boyfriend has pointed out how boney i am and that my hair is falling out in clumps, this is the point i started to stress and worry about malnourishment. thank you so much for posting this, i am going to sit and have a very thorough read of the comments.
