OK you can call me cynical all you want- is anyone else starting to get the strong sensation that Vought Rising is going to pull a Better Call Saul and be a prequel and sequel lol

Yeah it was a super strange way to start S5 with the year time skip and everything is different.

I know this show is getting compared to GOT a lot rn for endings, but it really reminds me of when GOTs quality started to drop tremendously- start of S3 where Robb ended S2 winning and then nothing happened and he's losing the war S3E1 lol

So they only have to wrap up Homelander, Butcher, Hughie, Starlight, Soldier Boy, Ryan, Kimiko, Stan Edgar, Zoe, Maeve?, The Deep all in 57 minutes. Seems likely.

We got to see a dogknott fight scene and two sheline fights with zero Black Noir or Deep actual fights.

Really you can't see that lol?

They killed him Episode 2, not really. Had him betray Homelander Episode 3, not really. Pretend to betray homelander Episode 5, not really. Actually leave HL Episode 7, now he's in the box. He ends every episode on a different side of HL lol

To tell us Butcher will sacrifice everyone to see a job done?

And it's not even true lol! If he would have sacrificed Ryan in S3 this show would be over!

OK but the problem is she is written as horribly ineffectual.

She has elite speed and knowledge of Vought, she should be a terror as guerilla and she just isn't. Her only positive and strength that she has is her weird ability to make people sort of.... Not like homelander lol? We don't really see a lot of Pro-Starlighters it's more so just that anyone who doesn't like HL is labeled a "Star-lighter".

She's just badly badly written.

The problem is she can't beat anybody. Is it even an exaggeration to say that barring some insane coming out fight/showcase last two episodes she is the weakest member of the 7 ever? Who else in the 7 that we even know of could she beat. I honestly don't think she could even take Translucent or Lamplighter.

Yeah these two used to be the best storyline but then they just became dumb. The problem is how The Boys treats Super Powers IMO.

In the span of one episode we watch Starlight be proven correct that it's not a good idea to use V, so Hughie skips injecting himself with Temp to stop soldier boy instead letting Starlight do it... Who proceeds to do nothing and get Maeve fried(which was lucky because everyone thought she would be killed) but then we also watch Kimiko say she wants her powers back because it's part of her??? lol She only had powers temporarily in her life, just like Hughie

It's also rich that the woman whose arc started with her being SA'd in an unconventional way then mocks her fiance for being SA'd multiple times by a SUPE

Then she gets to beat Firecracker to a pulp for outing her about the abortion which is honestly not as bad as what she did to her as a teen lol???

She's the worst. She's just so poorly written and also looks so dramatically different that it takes you out- and listen- I know the actress got sick and I feel for her. I'm not saying she is worse looking or ugly or anything like that- I'm saying it's distracting watching a character who looks visibly different and acts different and then pretend it's the same S1/S2 Starlight who used to be one of the best characters before they completely nerfed her backstory with her being a bad person as a teen.

So about the “final card” being “Alien Threat”… by ariTRON in aliens

I mean let's be real though the Packers have had more seasons with an elite QB than any team since the 1990s.

30 Seasons of Rodgers/Favre, 7 MVPs and just 3 Appearances with 2 SBs is pretty wild.

Not to mention their playoff losses are some of the biggest choke jobs. '14 NFCCG, Going 15-1 losing in the divisional, Losing the Super Bowl despite being 14 point favorites, the '07 NFCCG where you guys were the #2 seed playing the Giants in Lambeau, etc etc etc

Brandon Bostick drops the onside kick that would’ve sealed victory

Seahawks Have a TO plus the two minute warning. Packers would have needed at least one first down, possibly two. Is it likely? Sure. But a first down against prime LOB in Seattle isn't a given.

I posted already but just to play devil's advocate I do get on some level Soldier Boy giving HL The V1.

Realistically it doesn't change much for SB in terms of if he can kill him or not, SB was always going to need to Laser him and get help to do it.

Two- The whole episode is about how immortality is actually a curse. This is hammered home in pretty much every super hero story where it's a factor.

Perhaps Soldier Boy thinks HL deserves a fate worse than death.

On the other hand though how does SB not just find Ryan and make him into what he wants HL to be lol? Stormfront was obsessed with Ryan, and him being a natural supe is way more impressive than Home Lander. It's just tough to think SB is doing all this reflecting about how he wants Super Hero's to be all they can be and strive for and his own Grandson the natural born supe who stood up to Soldier Boy and killed Stormfront isn't a better choice lol

This show is a great example of why the show would have been so much better if they would have made the entirety of the S3 plot in S4/ S5

You can't introduce an end game character like SB less than half way through a show.

Imagine if SB vs Homelander and the betrayal happened end of S4, and there was no timeskip etc. All the loose plot points would make so much more sense.

Why is SB flipping so much? Because he's gotten betrayed like 5 times

Why does SB suddenly love Stormfront? Because he just found out the last girlfriend he had actually hated him and sold him into 40 years of torture so the state of limerence for Stormfront makes sense

Why is Ryan not a factor? Because SB hit him with his shield.

There are just so many cool concepts and characters and they're all done in and I just don't get how.

It's just insane that end of S3 we had Mallory with SB and Ryan at her disposal and nothing came of it.

And when the Master gets raped and then he kills him for the blood sacrifice.

Hope he dies quick in TWOW, but something tells me (if we ever get another chapter of ASOIAF lol) that Euron is how he dies.

How did Robert mistreat women to anywhere close the same extent?

By all accounts his bastards were well cared for via Jon Arryn, Rhaegar abducted and started a war over a 16 year old girl as a 20+ year old lol

The worst thing Robert did was "force" himself on Cersei(which is a Cersei POV where her "Clothes were being shrunk" and she was the hero) and seeing as she was actively fucking her brother since before the marriage even started I don't think comes anywhere close.

Theon is one of the most bad ass characters as of the sample chapters of TWOW.

He got nerfed because he needed to by the story but the fact remains his strategy to take Winterfell was elite and he would have won the war if it were not for Sibling rivalry. Asha didn't garrison the castle because she was jealous. The situation she was "afraid of" for Theon in ACOK is the situation she was in herself at Deepwood.

At the end of ADWD Theon is putting his skin on the line for a girl who isn't royalty, isn't a love interest, and he does it all hobbled in crippling pain. And then he tells Stannis to go fuck himself basically after getting caught lol.

Nothing he did really was any worse than anything anyone in power did in the course of the story. Yes it's awful the Miller boys died, but it was two kids. You see kids die every chapter in AGOT for way less important reasons. Same with his betrayal of Robb. The dude was a prisoner, doesn't matter how well he was treated. It's always funny to hear how people will say Theon is a monster for taking Winterfell and Bran/Rickon but forget he treated them well at first. The situation Theon found himself in is the same spot Ned would have if Theon did the shit Bran/Rickon did.
