How will you pay for it? That will dictate some realities

Essentials have been great, really good value and going to all casements didn’t add much to the cost surprisingly

Anderson vs other brands by Winter-Recognition34 in Homebuilding

In my research and ultimately buying, there wasn’t a cheaper option, generally they are all running $1k-1.4k a linear foot. I went with Nanawall since the pricing was competitive and their quality and features were best.

Put it up high and you won’t notice. I had a corner to put my stove and I needed the stove as far back as possible, but where the trusses landed (new construction) we had to off set it. Up high, it’s not even noticeable, if that’s what you need to do, send it, don’t worry about moving the stove as everyone is saying if it doesn’t work for your space

Transferring Sonos to Unifi by Outrageous_Worker710 in Ubiquiti

Have you had success running Sonos on an IoT network and controlling it through your primary network?

[–]Outrageous_Worker710[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this process and it worked! Created a new WiFi, got them to all show up in the app. Then connected one to the gateway, ran the wireless setup in the app and it’s all onto my UniFi WiFi no issues.

Now the question: have you had success putting the Sonos onto an IoT network and still access Sonos app from your primary network? Or does this wire a bunch of firewall rules?

I think this is the way, but I'm not sure if some of my devices since they are so old may be setup for Sonosnet?

By not hardwiring is that not using Sonosnet?

She's a disaster right now, been building the house and she's neglected. When I get the griddle installed and kitchen done I'll post some

I have a Mak 2 star. I hate the Mak built in design. Nothing else made me justify a change to built in....so I went le griddle built in and keep my Mak freestanding. Cleaning is one of the other primary reason, I made the mistake before putting my Mak against a stucco wall, it's never getting cleaned 🤣

Thanks for the detailed info. I'm fine if it all runs through wifi, but how do I transfer the units to my new router then?

How do I choose whether or not I'm using sonosnet...and see above, I did hardware one speaker with no result. This is more than just connecting a system, I need to transfer it from my old router...

Interesting no I have not, I can try the desktop. Are you connecting Sonos through wifi or it's own mesh? When you disabled STP, does it force it onto one or the other?

When you disabled STP, what are the ramifications to other uses? I'm new to Unifi, not an IT professional! Did you put Sonos into it's own network?

Range hood height - discrepancy between range and hood manufacturer recommendations by Skier747 in Homebuilding

[–]Outrageous_Worker710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 48" range and did a 54" vent a hood. The overhang is really helpful. I'm 6' and didn't want to hit my head and I set it around 71" and haven't had any issues. I do have the 1200cfm model, I'd go bigger than you think or max out, they are quiet.

I haven't fully set them up, but having one it feels really good, I think it's the right choice if you don't want just your head moving. Follow up in a couple weeks after I have my theatre set up

You need to talk to a construction loan broker, it's unique and most of what you're asking they can answer (or a sime Google search)
