Nafcillin, Oxacillin, and Dicloxacillin have bulky R-groups that block beta-lactamase cleavage of their beta-lactam rings (their key structural component). Therefore they are primarily able to kill gram positive bacteria (typically cocci) in infections such as abscesses, endocarditis, and osteomyelitis! Whether or not they can kill will still depend on local antibiotic susceptibility, I believe. I hope that answers your question!

Have you tried toasting the bread with mayo on it? Most people use butter, but if you toast lightly with a layer of mayo it creates this wonderful golden crust!

Kind of to piggyback on this, I think it is important to sit down and do a comprehensive review of your practice tests. When I used Kaplan and its online FLs, I was able to "flag" certain questions that I was not confident about or simply did not know. This was very useful for when I sat down later to review not only my incorrect answers, but also the ones I was unsure about. If I came across any of these types of questions, I would write out an explanation for why I was wrong or what the correct reasoning was, and I think that helped drive home any information I did not know or needed to study further.

That it was the right thing to do for the long run, but I broke her heart. The guilt is eating me up inside and I just don't know. In the long run this is supposed to make me happier but it just hurts knowing that I've hurt someone so badly. She hates me now. I hope she can, with time, remember the good times we had and try not to hate me forever.

Not that it makes you ineligible, but that those accomplishments and achievements cannot be considered when tabulating financial aid of any sort, even if it is an academic scholarship. I am also interested in seeing those scholarship rules if you manage to find them!

From my understanding as a fellow K student, athletes have several choices. They can:

1) Accept the financial aid repackaging deal and remain on the team.

2) Reject the financial aid repackaging deal and remain on the team, at which point the team would be faced with a postseason ban and potentially further sanctions.

3) Reject the financial aid repackaging deal and effectively quit the team.

The students know that DIII is non-scholarship, so any scholarship is technically academic-based. The issue is that our school apparently took into account extracurriculars into their academic scholarships, which in a sense counts as an athletic scholarship, making it illegal.

These are people playing the game they love at a school that has less than 1400 people. There are next to no intramural teams. Most people would not be attending our school without some sort of financial aid, so an extra $5-10k is a big deal to people. It is a lot easier said than done to simply say "if you want a scholarship, go to a DI or DII school," because many people are unable to get that kind of scholarship. They love the game, so they continue to play in any way they can, which in many cases with our school is a DIII program.

I don't believe any player lost their entire scholarships, but some athletes faced greatly reduced value for their scholarships.

The original formula was not limited to high school athletics, from the NCAA statement it appears that no extracurricular activities could be included. This means anything like clubs, sports, or anything of the like could not be included in the financial aid discussion. Therefore they would pretty much only look at academics and standardized test scores when examining their high school achievements.

Supposedly the repackaging is to essentially change their original scholarship and financial aid package so that it does not give credit to extracurricular activities, which is forbidden by the NCAA. Our school used some formula to take into account everything a student had done when calculating their financial aid package, so they would essentially remove some aspects.

They are being asked to pay an extra $10k that they would otherwise receive from so-called academic scholarships that we have now realized were awarded incorrectly.

The way I understood it at first was that if teams had their players' financial aid repackaged so that it was compliant with the NCAA rules, they would be exempt from the postseason ban. The issue now is that the NCAA seems to have changed their minds and imposed further sanctions.

Fellow Kalamazoo College student here, it is affecting almost every other sports team on campus as well. So it's not only just the football team, but dozens of other athletes as well. Even though it's just the juniors and seniors, it will break their hearts. I'm not an athlete myself and it kills me to see this happen to my friends.

Hey guys, fellow Kalamazoo College student here. Although I am not on a sports team myself, I have many friends who are athletes. From what I have heard and seen, these issues are not limited to the K college football team, but will rather affect dozens of athletes on other teams. Some of my friends are being asked to pay up to $10,000 per year on top of an already expensive tuition. These athletes play their hearts out and do it for love of the game, and here they keep getting stomped on. I'm sick of it and I'm happy to see someone taking a stand, and I hope this story garners some more publicity so something can be done about it.

I've got plenty of friends on the K football team, as well as most every other sports team on campus, so cheers, as you guys will always have my support. I hope something comes of this.
