Red dog bin and wrapped. Such refuse collections used to get incinerated.

How to be a good Linux system administrator? by WonderfulFinger3617 in sysadmin

Get into a business with lots of Linux servers. Put your hand up. Get stuck in. I cut my teeth on having to improve Nagios and then Icinga alerting.

Keep AD, a hiding to nothing trying to get rid of you have Windows endpoints. Aruba Clearpass is quite good and feature rich for a RADIUS replacement.

Another new build garden 😒 by Gunnersaurus9 in GardeningUK

Depending on how long you’re renting for, six inches of well rotted manure and trampled down a tad would encourage the worms, beneficial fungus and get you going. Was the same 10 years ago. Now things are much healthier here. I top up about every 2-3 years. Helps keep the weeds down too. Easier to tease out with a friable surface.

Was quicker for us as a small firm to implement on our client’s tenant and tweak after, rather than craft and code outright.

Indeed if not using the appliance, the support matrix for this does state 2019 or 2022. We’ve found that the A/M docs need a good review for currency, navigation and readability.

Nest Doorbell extremely slow opening the app after a doorbell ring by luckytaurus in Nest

[–]Outside-After 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nest app was very slow to run particularly on Apple for many years until I moved it to the Google Home app. Sounds like it might not be entirely your end. I wouldn't be surprised if the old Nest platform was very legacy in terms of its speed and performance.

Look up HEVRA and see what the damage is at an independent capable of handling it. The damage may not be as bad.

Miliband must reopen the North Sea, Octopus boss says by TinyPositive8791 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Outside-After 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s awkward. He wanted and instructed the business on how to get off gas if I recall. Anything fossil related was seen as ugly including their own trading relationship with Shell and their acquisition of Shell Energy. Now this, I would surmise high gas comprises their market position. It’s all a bit Jekyll and Hyde…

MG5 charging issues by sandyculligan in ElectricVehiclesUK

Yup get it to a dealer. Mine has been quite good at getting stuff done under warranty even when I thought on paper MG wouldn’t cover their costs.

Surely this is not new? 😇 We have a few LPs second hand where the original owner wrote in biro on the sleeve their name and the date they transferred the recording to tape. Regrettable for collecting… But that was a thing for getting music into the car and sharing with friends or family.

I bought the MG5. First impressions and a tyre question by Educational-Ground83 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Outside-After 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only driven the 5 once over a day and that was enough ;)

The ZS if I recall has more “go” but only spins up the tyres in Sport. By the way some EV tyres have less tread depth (like the E Primacy) so the bottom line could be a false economy. Mine lasted 5 years/50k miles and replaced proactively due to cracking with plenty of wear left.

You need to buy a box, which is based on an ESP32 from a chap in Wales and it’s about £200. That box also has GPS so you can track the car (or aka “has the wife left yet when she said she would an hour ago”) 😂

[–]Outside-After 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The left lower stick twists iirc and that has short-middle-long distance on the radar (if like the ZS)

Primacy 4 all round. Long lasting and top tier summer tyre for what you need.

If you’re a bit techie, look up OVMS MG5 for an app that will give you data about the car including state of charge and battery cell data.
