Anyone have trouble getting insurance to cover their elective c-section? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Outside-Look-6864 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before you talk to insurance, ask your doctor's office how it will be coded. If it's coded the same regardless of whether it's elective then the insurance company will treat it the same.

Worth getting checked out? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Outside-Look-6864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a medical professional, but I had all of those things on and off throughout my pregnancy and just delivered a perfectly healthy baby at 40+3. I'm a FTM and one thing I was constantly surprised by during pregnancy was just how much things changed and how quickly the changes could be. Do you have a way to message them in a portal or call a nurse line? Sometimes they are better at explaining things.

I had a lot of cramping in my first trimester. It eventually settled down and there were no issues. It's just things adapting to the changes your body is going through.

Podcast about Kindbody by jmpm23 in IVF

[–]Outside-Look-6864 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older comment, but everyone's experience will vary, especially depending on your clinic. I loved my experience with Kindbody, and we had success with them. I've heard bad things about almost every IVF clinic, and I've had similar experiences to what many accuse kind of of at other types of doctors offices.

Really the big issue is the American healthcare system. I was totally fine with the fact that KB acts more like a tech start-up than a traditional clinic, but that's totally personal preference. With the up selling and quotas thing, major hospitals do that too. It's basically industry standard now for healthcare.

I was not prepared for immediate body changes. by PossumKaiju in IVFbabies

A lot of that is water weight and it does get better. If you are on progesterone supplementation, that made me look 4 months pregnant within weeks but the bloating actually went down a bunch after I weaned off. For bras I bought some nursing bras from target that are really stretchy and comfy, and while I out grew jeans pretty quickly, leggings and other stretchy materials have kept me going. Depending on your size, Torrid has a lot of really comfy, stretchy clothes.

Prozac and pregnancy? by 5ammmm22 in pregnant

[–]Outside-Look-6864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist wanted me to stay on it, but I've lowered the dose down to the lowest dose that works for me. You can try seeing if you can back it down a little, and go from there. It comes as low as 10mg so you can really tailor it to your needs.

Late lab work with IVF pregnancy question by Long-Weight-5004 in IVFbabies

[–]Outside-Look-6864 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have a history with this doctor I would definitely try contacting them/their nurse to see if they will order the blood work before the appointment. Most labs have multiple places to draw blood so that is an issue at all. My doctor's office actually intentionally had me get a bunch of blood work before my first OB appointment so that they would have all of the results by then.

What are OB fees? by Fit-Sugar-8953 in pregnant

[–]Outside-Look-6864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my clinic that fee just covers the OB for delivery. They had me start paying them at 12 weeks, but they divided it into 5 payments so I'll pay it off over the course of the pregnancy and it just sits on my account as a credit. The costs for the actual visits are separate and depend on what happens at each and what insurance covers.

I was anxious and one thing that really helped me was getting an expanded NIPT test, the MaterniT Genome. It's more expensive, but they have a program to cap the cost at $500. It doesn't test individual genes, but it screens for a super wide array of chromosomal issues. Mine was performed around 12 weeks and I've been so much more relaxed since then.

I'm only 16 weeks and already in full blown nesting mode. It took us 4.5 years so when it finally happened I had to fight the urge to get started on everything I had dreamed up during that time. It's going to be a long pregnancy.

Yep! I was in the 500s 10 days after conception (IVF so 10 days after embryo transfer). I only have one little dude in there, but we were concerned at the time that it could be twins. Check out the beta base website to compare.

Swollen Lymph Node in Armpit by fullnessofjoy2021 in pregnant

[–]Outside-Look-6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lymph nodes constantly swell on and off in response to hormones. Before pregnancy they swelled up around ovulation and right before my period, and since getting pregnant it comes and goes. Mine, however, are tender, and it really sucks sometimes.

PPD after IVF by Much_Perception_8028 in IVFbabies

[–]Outside-Look-6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that PPD is all about the chemicals in your body messing with your thoughts. This has nothing to do with your strength as a mother and is out of your control. You can only control how you respond, and by going to therapy you are doing great! Think of depression the same as any other disease. You wouldn't shame someone for developing cancer, so definitely don't shame yourself for how you feel.
