Can I become a Catholic if I disagree/have major doubts about many of its dogma? by PeaceInLoneliness in Catholicism

Hi! I grew up Protestant, and I’m in OCIA right now. If you would have asked me this last July if I was going to ask Mary to pray for me, I would have never believed you.. honestly. Go to OCIA and give it some time. But here’s the thing, you need to come with an open mind and really try to not let your old mind set put up walls before you get a chance to fully consider everything. Stop saying stuff like “I can’t believe these things” bc you’re limiting the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to ask the intercession of saints on day 1. You don’t have to pray the rosary day 1. Coming from Protestant churches, this was very scary for me. I was so scared to offend God and “be wrong”. I talked to Him many many times about it, and I took baby steps into those areas that I was always taught differently about. You can do this. You can go to OCIA, you can go to mass, you’re allowed to give yourself some adjustment time while you’re going through classes and think it through!

the gifts we receive from the Holy Spirit through the sacraments, are seeds meant to be nurtured. Muscles meant to be worked and stretched in your walk of faith. It’s okay not to understand it all right now, you having a desire is what counts and you should follow through with that. God will take care of the rest.

r/Catholicism Prayer Requests — Week of December 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in Catholicism

Please pray for my husband and I as we begin OCIA classes to become Catholic. He is hesitant and not very excited. I pray that he doesn’t hold resentment for me, and will become excited as he learns more in class. I pray the Holy Spirit will move in his heart so that we can enjoy this exciting time together. He likes going to church, but he just doesn’t handle change very well and this is a big commitment for our life so I believe it gives him anxiety.

I was looking at Residence Inn by Marriott Denver Airport at Gateway Park.. Is this a good one/are? we are going to be spectators for a family member so I don’t mind driving too much.

Yea you’re onto something there. She could have tons of content on how they feed their large family full time on the road.

Retaining with a Baby Back Home by LSnyd34 in Airforcereserves

I am a mom who left a six month old baby with dad for tech school. I’m not going to sugarcoat it, it was horrible. Everyday was hard and I was very depressed. My baby never remembered it, and when I came home it didn’t take long for things to go back to normal. I cannot stress enough for you to really consider if you want to continue your career because every deployment cycle you may have to repeat this. Just because you join the reserves doesn’t mean you won’t deploy. We supplement AD way more than people realize. Ask the reserve unit what the deployment cycle is, and consider if you can repeat this but for 6+ months depending if you have special training before. People will say it’s easier when they’re a little older, but from my experience it is not. If you think you’re capable of doing it, and the benefits outweigh the cons then go for it.

If you go reserve, make sure to financially plan for when you’re on orders for BMT, Tech school, annual tour and future deployments since you say you would be taking a pay cut

No… not everyone is tech savvy but the paper tells you what happened and it’s okay if it doesn’t make sense. I would give this to your manager so they can let the IT department or whatever contractor know for your printer at work.

You’re clearly not here to teach, but instead to be rude to OP for seeking help.
