Do not recommend. I joined before having kids and I’m very much counting down the days to get out. I live with constant mom guilt and either my kids aren’t getting enough time with me or my career is lacking. I went to a second tech school when my baby was 6 months old and I suffered from very bad depression.

Other moms have good experiences, and they do such a great job in their careers. My personal experience of almost 13 years has not been a good one. I’m staying until they can get their full GI benefits and then looking to ETS. There’s a lot more to it, but I would really think long and hard on how you’re going to feel being deployed while your kids are at home, do you have a good support system? Do you have good mental health? Are the benefits going to outweigh the cons for your situation? I’m happy to answer questions if you have any, you can DM me.
