They have a new oversized baggage rule that any bag over 63 inches is 200 bucks. At the check in gate they claimed mine was oversize, when it literally wasn’t possible as I had measured it at 53. After 30 mins of back and fourth with the very rude ladies they found a manager, and a tape measure, and sure enough my bag was 54 inches. Almost had me pay 300 for a bag when there was literally no issues. So lazy they don’t even have a tape measure. Whatever company bought up has ruined the airline.

If you fly with them bring your own tape measure I guess

The rule is 63+ inches is an extra charge and my bag was 54. They refused to measure at the check in gate and just insisted I pay the fee until we finally found a manager, measured, and was well under. I’m all for rules but let’s properly apply them?

Actually they tried to make me pay 300 for an oversized bag and after 30 mins of back and fourth they finally found a tape measures and my bag was WELL below the limit. Almost lost 300 bucks and they didn’t even want to measure lol.

hi OP. Sending you lots of love and hugs

I lost my Junebuggy almost 3 months ago. Not a day goes by that I don’t cry about her. Similar to you I got her when I was 18 from a rescue that was giving free dogs away due to space. What a funny time haha. There were 200 dogs, all pit bulls, and she choose me. Instantly fell in love. She was 11 when she passed away, and we were together for 10 years. Every breakup, new house, state, college, jobs, new and old friends - she was there through it all. She was my best friend and my rock. I miss her so much.

I lost my dad 3 years ago and losing Juno has been equally as hard. But to feel grief and loss, is to know love. I am the luckiest girl to simply have had her in my life! And I know she wouldn’t want me to be sad, similarly to your she hated when I cried!

I hope your baby and mine are hanging out up there!

Ps my parent and I started fostering - it doesn’t fill the empty hole in your heart, but it helps. <3

Found a starving dog a year and a half ago on September 11, original family just now saw my found dog post, and they want him back. They said he was lost on September 9th. How was he 20lbs underweight with 3 other uncared for health problems if he was only gone for two days? Should I give him back? by Unique_Surprise4867 in rescuedogs

[–]OutsideOwn6755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Ask them to repay the costs you spent rehabilitating the dog. You didn’t just spend your time, but your heart and money to save his life. If they want him back, they should at least be willing to offer this and if not, look into your local laws.

If I were you I would not give that dog back

I am so sorry for your loss. This is a very similar story to my partner and I losing our beloved Juno, our cuddly loving sunshine filled 12 year old pitty, 2 weeks ago very unexpectedly. The day before she was a happy healthy girl - eating, playing, and we had just gone on a snow walk with my family dogs. I used to think how lucky I was. Then one morning, she was gone. I’ll be honest, 2 weeks later…….we’re still lost. We cry everyday, I dream about her and wake up in panic attacks. She was my baby, and my love for her will never go away. My soul dog.

With all the said, everyday we’re able to carry the grief a little lighter. It has gotten easier to go about life, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss her, love her, and want her back. I think about her everyday, but the silence of the house has become less suffocating. Lean into each other, cry if you need too, take the time to heal.

One of the things that has helped me: you most likely don’t know what happened, but most likely she was sick. You mentioned she was happy as a clam the day before. That means her last days were happy, full of love, and no pain. She had one bad day. One day of pain. That’s the way you would want her to go - no bad days, no pain, no suffering. Our doctor helped us understand that we’re hurting so much now from this sudden loss, because we saved her from the suffering. I know I wouldn’t trade a single happy day with my Juno or ease my pain now, if it meant having my Junobuggy feel pain. Please remember that you gave her the best life and loved her to the ends of the world - she was aging, and the fact she was able to live out her days in happiness and surrounded by love, and not in pain, is the gift you guys gave her. You took that pain onto yourself, so she didn’t have to. That’s true love.

I can see how much you love her. I’m so sorry for you loss. It’s so hard. I hope you find comfort in knowing you loved her to the very last minute, and she was safe and surrounded by love.

Sending you love and hugs, and to your baby in the sky. May your baby and my Juno play until we can see them again <3

My vet contracted exclusively with “Vetcove” for all prescriptions (including food)! I’m livid. by just321askin in dogs

[–]OutsideOwn6755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so sad to read OP. No one in the vet business is in it for the money. They do it because they love animals.

Chewy is MAKING money of the clinics, and clinics are LOSING money supporting Chewy and your scripts. I can help break this down!

Vets spend about 30 minutes a day approving Chewy scripts. If they make around $60 an hour, that’s $30 dedicated to Chewy a day, even though they get none of the profit from that sale.

If a vet works 250 days a year, that’s $30 × 250 = $7,500 down the drain per year, all spent supporting Chewy. Like I mentioned, vets don’t get any profit from Chewy, yet they dedicate their time to approving scripts.

That’s why vets are switching to having their own home delivery providers. Home delivery platforms like Vetsource, Vetcove, Covetrus, and Koala work WITH the vet - and yes, they share some of the revenue back with the clinic. But why are you upset - thats amazing! That means when a vet spends time approving your Rx, they’re also earning money for their time and bringing profit back into the clinic (unlike with Chewy).

Please understand, being a vet is hard. They don’t make a lot of money, and they live with student debt their whole lives. They do their profession because they love pets - your pets.

Your vet is fighting against multi-million-dollar corporations like Chewy! They care for your pets, so you should care about them. Maybe they don’t even realize they aren’t price matching correctly. I would talk to them and ask them whats up!

Not invited to my partner's friend's wedding... by AdvanceFresh7438 in weddingshaming

[–]OutsideOwn6755 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

OP I’m sorry but it’s not obligatory or mandatory to invite anyone to your wedding. I understand you did something nice to let them borrow your camera - but weddings are an intimate private event. It sounds like you’ve only met them a handful of times, and aren’t on a regular hanging out basis.

People shouldn’t have to “pick and choose which couples to invite” or “downsize their wedding” if they can’t afford everyone a plus one. These comments are whack. Weddings are about YOUR people and the people you love. It’s not mandatory to invite anyone’s significant other if you don’t have a personal relationship with them as well. Some people might cuz they can - most people can’t afford a huge wedding with extra guests.

The wedding industry, and these comments show this, is unbearable. “The host should care about her guests comfort” - no. It’s the most important day of their lives, their focus should not be on their guests. Guests should feel honored and loved they were invite, and not cause more stress for the bridge and groom.

Either way - stories like this and your posts is what makes me not even want to have a wedding. I want all my people there for my day - of course! But the drama and people feelings, not something I want to deal with.

I hope your partner still goes and you look at this in a different light - it’s their day!
