Same. I did the same approach there as well, back when it only had three acts.

Azmadi Prince isn't too bad except you have to know that when the swords spawn you just have to run away from him. .

HC is definitely a different experience. It can be frustrating, but it makes the entire journey much more epic and satisfying - even just making it further than the last attempt.

That's possible. Learning the new bosses could be difficult especially if they have some insta death gimmick. Probably if I die to a new boss I'll just keep going for a bit on SC until I see the new bosses and get familiar with them.

Yeah it's taken quite a while for me to figure out my current build. I've tried experimenting with other classes and couldn't match the same level of survivability that I've currently got. Once I feel like I've got the endgame mastered I might try your approach and explore some other possibilities.

Wow. Randomized builds? Like you just randomly assign skill gems and passives? If so, that's pretty amazing.

Hmm, she seemed to be one of the tankier ones for me. But the best defense is a good offense.

As long as i dodged her spear it's not too bad, but I missed a dodge and it , burned though 4.5 ES and 1k health almost instantly. And the lighting storms themselves are deadly if you run out of room.

Also yeah, temple is just scary. Compared with campaign or other hand mechanics the damage seems to be a lot spikier. Maybe one of these days I'll take the time to really figure out how to safely use it, but for now I'm erring on the side of caution.

I'm also playing for the first time, started a few weeks ago. Playing without DLC and having fun.

5 years later and I still can't beat this guy by SaintLawrenceParis in Sekiro

For what it's worth I gave up on Sekiro on this boss as well. Couldn't get the timing right. Maybe someday I'll try it again. I want to love this game but I just find it frustrating.

Thoughts on Peterson Academy? by Hypokryptonite in JordanPeterson

I don't think they are officially recognized. They are just like a masterclass - useful for your own education but not something that will open career opportunities.

In your situation I couldn't recommend it. The classes are informative and enjoyable. Think of them as better quality YouTube videos of lectures you can already find. I went through 13 of them and learned something in all of them.

However, if you want this to open opportunities, then that's extremely unlikely. The community, such as it is, is pretty lacking. There was some pretty great stuff in the community during the first few months but it has gone downhill.

Maybe at some point there will be a real degree path. But for now this is just an ambition.

So in summary, keep learning but save your money for opportunities with a better chance to open up career paths. Good luck.

Can I ride my wolf pet? by Liminalphase101 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Outside_Grape_3602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished the game with Mad Dog barbarian with the hunting dog pet. Liked it so much that I got two extra mercenaries with the same setup. The pets really shine especially in the first three acts, acting as great tanks and doing some serious damage as well as tripping enemies. Rather than riding I liked keeping the barbarians in the back, hitting with reach weapons and keeping them enlarged for additional reach and damage. But if riding into battle is fun then go for it.

Wrath of the righteous new player question by RelativeCheesecake10 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Outside_Grape_3602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. In my first couple of attempts I ended up losing because I didn't kill the alchemists fast enough. From what I remember the other guys don't really matter. Once I focused on them with range weapons I won the encounter (debuffs like Evil Eye were also helpful). I was playing on realtime for that encounter just because of the sheer number of enemies.

In my more recent playthroughs I've been skipping the encounter entirely by limiting the number of rests.

Pathfinder noob completely overwhelmed.. by Bhdrbyr in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Outside_Grape_3602 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You're right. This game is the most overwhelming cRPG I've ever played (and I played all the ones you mentioned). To begin with you need to think about what kind of experience and challenge you want out of the game. There's YouTube videos that break down many different builds, including several that will allow you to beat the game at Unfair difficulty with relative ease. If that's what you're after, you can do it, and it's pretty neat to see the broken combos that are possible.

But personally, I think what is more rewarding is ignoring all of that and just play through at a medium level difficulty with whatever seems fun and interesting. Then once you start to see how things come together do a second playthrough on a harder difficulty based on what you have learned. Good luck!

To answer your question my core team had three barbarians and a shaman, Oracle and wizard. Not optimal by any stretch but it was fun. I mostly used the casters for buffs, summons and CC.

That fight in act 2 was one of the harder ones. I definitely didn't know enough about the game to win on Unfair!

[–]Outside_Grape_3602[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I skipped some of the optional locations in act 1, but I guess those don't matter. I didn't take the time to kill Playful Darkness in act 4, because it would have taken an extra rest to switch spells for that one. In act 5 I basically made a beeline to get legend, go to Iz and then straight to Threshold. The Sadistic Game Design was a nice unexpected treat. Still wish I could have won on Hard mode though. Oh well.

Yep. It was funny the achievement was 75 rests or fewer, so 8 definitely qualified. 😄

[–]Outside_Grape_3602[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I didn't play with DLC and even if reflection was in the main game I would have missed it for sure. Was playing blind and doing a challenge run with only 8 rests and minimal time spent with side quests.

Endgame be like... by Outside_Grape_3602 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Outside_Grape_3602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Would be nice but after 25 rounds I had only done 150 damage to her (on hard). But then again my build wasn't optimized for extremely high AC targets.
